The trick is to completely close the mail app and re open it when you change account settings. For some reason it doesn’t take until you do.
Thank you so much for responding, but I do not understand what you are saying. You are so kind to help, I am sorry I don't get it. Thank you!
The Apple mail app - quit?? Change it when it is closed? Then open it? Or - The WA mail program?
I really want/need to understand. Thank you so much for your patience.
When you’re in Apple Mail make your changes then quit the app and then re-open it. When I made account changes, they showed in the app but didn’t really take hold until I quit it and re-opened it.
Thank you. I believe I have tried that by default with so many attempts and changes and frustration and quitting the mail program like a hundred times. But I will do due diligence and try some changes and quitting each time. WA has given me several ports and such, so I will try your idea with each. Thanks! I am thankful for any help. I really wanted to make WA work for me, but I really use Apple Mail.
I use it on mine. I’m planning to create how-to videos for Outlook, iOS and Apple mail. Hopefully next week. Keep an eye out for my training posts.
Hey Man,
I made a how-to video for Apple Mail. Check it out: How to Setup Your WA Email Account(s) in Apple Mail
Hello merlynmac,
You are very kind, with the offer of help and even making a video! I did finally get my Apple Mail to work, but differently than your video, which were the settings I had been using all along. Perhaps we are using a different OS. Mine is on High Sierra - 10.13.6. I haven't update to the new one yet. -- I gave up on the WA settings. I deleted that one and set it up a new email account like I do with my Just Host and Go Daddy accounts, and it worked right away after I filled in the basic questions and continued after the login warning. - A sincere thank you for your help. :)
Glad to hear it! Just to confirm, your mail is flowing properly in both directions right? And yes, I'm on macOS Mojave (10.14.2).
Yes. I am using Charter as my outgoing mail server, as it would not work properly using WA. My husband is already on Mojave, I let him test the waters before I upgrade. LOL
