I have decided I want to change the name of my business can I do this without losing the content on the website that I have?

Yes, you register your new domain URL and then apply the move feature found within your site manager.

You can use the move feature found within your site manager to move your siterubix subdomain/dot com to your dot com when you are ready. It is a simple process.

You would need to wait up to 30 days (Kyle's recommendation) for 301 redirects to be completed and for the search engines. After of which, you MAY delete the subdomain; however, you could keep it for longer if hosting space is not an issue or for testing purposes such as themes, plugins, scripts, coding, etc

You can check Kyles's training tutorial below. Or else ask site support for assistance.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

You can do it on the same domain name if you like and not move anything. This would require using the original domain, but changing the title on your site.
However, if you want to change the URL, too, you can backup your site and simply reinstall it on the new domain. Your content will still exist, but it will not have the same URLs as before, unless you set those URLs to redirect.

You will have to buy a new domain name and move it there.

Thank you so much

I wonder if anyone can help me as I have an issue with the drop down tabs on my website which I have been trying to sort out.

I added my main menu to the top navigation

I'm with Marion on this about the theme, but instead of drop down menus, I use internal page and post linking

So my blog reads like a book

Change your theme to GeneratePress. My menu works fine on Bing https://marionblackonline.com/

Now that is strange. Have you tried clearing your cache on your site and your computer?

Just a thought.

Hello

I wonder if you can help me.

I am eager to get ranked with google and i have been looking at your comments and suggestions to help me improve all the time.</

Hi Imelda, having a post every three days would be great for your website. This will give you more traffic, and build trust so your posts get indexed faster. 1000 to 1500 words is ideal.
When it comes to ranking, your contributions to the site comment this forum is also important. Continue to write posts here also.

All the best,
Michael

Thank you Michael,

I really appreciate your comments and will take them on board.

Regular good article is the key then and try 100 to 1500 words.

I do try and use the SiteComment to so thank you as I will put into my daily routine.

i would say both - what you are looking for are chinks in what is there - finding keywords that are not well serviced and writung very relevant content to cover these 'low hanging fruit'.
will it take 2k words - if thats what it takes to fully answer the keyword then yes.
how often - that depends on your niche and how fast you want to get noticed.
i would do a spread of both - answering longer questions and shorter questions - and even longer posts with your own tests...
but wihch ever way you go good luck
phil
for me it is more important to find the chinks in the authority sites answers as these will get ranked before competing with them....

Thank you,

I really appreciate this information especially about the authority sites which I had not thought about.

Greatly appreciated.

The following articles I wrote will help answer your question: Start with the bottom one and work your way up and you will have all your questions answered plus much more.

Fantastic,

Thank you so much for those articles.

I will do them in turn as you mentioned.

So much work to improve but I will get there.

Thank you

Yes, enjoy them and take your time here to learn what is being taught in each lesson. It is smart to make sure you understand what is in each training section before you move on to the next one.

There are no shortcuts.

You know about the tortoise and the rabbit race, the tortoise always wins.

Be patient says me who is not patient at all.

Hi,

Firstly, for me, I will say I tend to write for my readers moreso than the search engines.

So, I aim to write engaging and informative articles, which ensure that people will want to read more articles on my site, or come back again in the future.

However, from a purely SEO point-of-view, it's all well-and-good having great content for your "potential readers", but without getting ranked in the search engines, you're not going to get many people finding your articles,

From a search engine perspective, Google in the main, a website that is updated reguarly, with great content is a must.

I know there's no specific answer, but I am very much a statistical type of person, so I often "need" to find relevant answers.

So, I've done a little research.

Remember, there's no actual hard-and-fast "proof" for the following figures, these are just based on my own and OTHERS' personal experience.

Google loves it If you're updating your website with regular content, say 3-5 times a week.

They tend to enjoy longer articles, but I'm not talking about fluff or concentrating on word count.

I've recently read a blog post whereby someone's top performing article was a "Best Of" review, which reviewed 18 different products within a certain niche, and the article was a whopping 6,500 words long.

I'm not saying that every article you write needs to be of this length, I just want you to concentrate on the words "best performing article".

The article was packed-full of fantastic information and in reality a reader or potential buyer would not need to go anywhere else or read any other article in order to make an informed buying decision. This is why Google loved that article so much - it gave the reader EVERYTHING they needed.

Another figure I have seen a few times now (but remember there are no set figures, this is just based on somebody's experience) is a 55-70 article span until traffic starts to take off.

Basically, we're led to believe most websites won't start producing decent traffic until they're 3-6 months old.

The reason - Google will start to view you as more of an authority if you have been regualrly posting quality content for this amount of time. Therefore, your individual articles receive more traction in the SERPS.

Funnily enough, I would hazard a guess that many websites will have produced this 55-70 article figure within 3-6 months.

Don't get me wrong, you could hire 70 article writers today and get them all to create one quality article each and then put them on a brand new website on the same day.

However, you haven't built up authority yet in Google's eyes and they are unsure of whether you will be regularly adding the same type of content.

So, it does take time.

My advice - write an article that you believe is of good quality and provides a reader with exactly what they need to know. This may take 1,000 words, 2,000 words, or 10,000 words.

Just make sure you provide what you say you're going to provide (give the reader what your headline tells them you're going to give them).

Then do this on a regular basis, week in week out.

This way both your readers and Google will begin to show you "love".

Thanks
Partha

I appreciate your insights and such an exhaustive answer to this question, Partha. What I particularly like is how you saying we should provide what we promise and the articles should be of good quality.
I'm still waiting for Goolge to show me love, but I don't have 50 articles up yet and my site is 4 and half months old. I just need to fill it with more content.
Thanks
Lenka

Hi Lenka,

Thanks a lot, it's much appreciated.

For you, I'd say, I've seen your website within the site comments section, and I'm a fan of your writing here anyway, so I know you're definitely moving in the right direction.

I guess one of the main reasons it may take longer to get "Google Love" will be based against how competitive the kywords are that you're targeting and the competition you're up against.

For me, I know my niche has the same 5-7 websites occupying page one of Google for practically every single keyword, so to compete I'm probably looking at 200-300 good articles that offer more than these "authority" sites.

The reason I place the word authority in inverted commas is because my competition are all between 5-20 years old, but mainly have 500-750 word boring, monotonous articles. Surely, I can do better.

Well I'm giving it a go.

I guess I'm averaging 2,000-3,000 words per post and have 44 articles produced in the last 6 weeks.

I'm not going to lie, it's hard work, but I'm enjoying it, and I'll keepo going.

Partha

That's awesome that you can write such long articles. I'm glad if I get to 1300-1500 words, only exceptionally I manage to write something longer. 44 articles in 6 weeks is a heroic act, kudos to you. And you are enjoying it, that's even better.

I'm not sure if my niche isn't too broad. I also have some giant competition like healthline which I can never beat (so far it seems so) but I'm trying going for low competition keywords.

I'm really curious if anything changes when I hit some mark like let's say 50 posts, or 6 months, or whatever. It feels like a game sometimes. A game with Google.

Hello Partha,

Thank you so much for your information.

I think I am starting to understand a lot more of what I need to do and I think I am going along the right lines.
