Can this be done?

I know websites where I can enter a domain name to see which keywords it uses. So no problem if i have a list of competitors sites, I can check them all

I type in the link and it disappears I will have to send it to you inPM

Are you getting this-: create a web site

Type in your key word like this in the search engine "key word" google will pick up on the key word or key word phase lets say "hotels" this then will bring up all sights using this key word, if you type in "hotels in Thailand" it will bring up all the sites using this in their key word heading on site description, and if the number is low enough see if you can get a URL with those key words in it, that way you will rank higher. I hope I got this right and it is of some help. If you need back links here's a good way of doing it: type in to the search box: your Keywords "Powered by wordpress" "leave a comment": this will throw up all the relevant websites that have a leave a comment box, some website will have a provision for you to leave your URL if not just leave a comment and this link: create a website, this will give a link back to your website, if you do just ten a day it will soon build up. I hope this help full to you as well, if you already know this then know worries.

Brian, if you have time would you please clarify for me from above: type into the search box:your keywords "Powered by wordpress""leave a comment". I am thinking this means type in my keywords...and the rest just as you have it? Thank you for your help. I have not seen this info anywhere else.
Harold

Nice tip about finding sites where you can leave comments for your niche ☺ Hadn't thought of that before.

Thanks.

No worries only to pleased to share. Stay cool, if you can in Thailand that is ha ha ha.

Yep that's it Doc, lets say your key word is"medicine", then type this first, followed by the rest, google will bring up all the sites relevant to that key word with a leave a comment box at the bottom of their website. If there is no link back box for your URL put this in the comment box with some comment create a website. then click the leave a comment tab and it will link back to your site, and your done, bravo.

Sorry I do not know if you can do this or not, why not ask on Live Chat?

I could spend some time in a spreadsheet to do this, I think but I don't have time to look into it now. I am interested if anybody else knows of a tool or a site that handles this.
I thought I had read something once about getting Google search results with just the URLs and no summary, but I can't find any reference to it.

I once used a site called SpyFu, which may handle something like this. At the time, you could do a lot for free. I'm not sure what the deal is anymore, but you might be interested in checking it out.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info.

Not to sound stupid, but isn't that the QSR in Jaaxy?

That gives you the Google results easily enough. Just wondered if there was a way to get a list of the domains, excluding repeated domains, quickly without looking through all of them and noting each one. I.e. a list that could be cut & paste

Sorry, I honestly do not know if there is such a thing...unless someone out there 'sells' some type of software, etc. ????

Just wondered what people's thoughts were on keeping the date displayed on the top of a blog post vs. hiding it.

Some themes offer the option to hide the date & time w

Wow, great conversation! I too look at dates, though I see nothing wrong with a date change if information has been updated and I think Ben makes an excellent point on consistency!

Ian the secret is to keep posting on a schedule. Therefore I would keep the dates. Look back on your site a year later and visitors see the continuity and constant updates.

Good point. Showing regular updates for a long period will help give your site authority in the eyes of the reader.

OK. Looks like this question is resolved. Keep the dates. Thanks for the feedback. :-)

I also like seeing the date, it let's me know how new the post is

When you make an update within WordPress, once you hit that 'update' button both content and last published on date change...

Also, even given the date of the following article, the validity holds true even today:

http://www.wpbeginner.com/opinion/why-you-should-not-remove-dates-from-your-wordpress-blog-posts/

Cheers Rosie - interesting read. Thanks for the link

You are very welcome! Hope it is of help :)

I have updated my post with some new information, but after I clicked the Update button, the last published on date is still the same original date. It does *not* change. So where does it show the last published date?

Did you log out and then back in again?

That doesn't work for me. Maybe it is a theme related thing.

I also like seeing dates, especially when I'm doing research. I want the latest data. I kind of feel manipulated when there's no date.

Yeah, know what you mean. You then feel like you have to start scouring the site further, only now you aren't really interested in the content, you're more interested in if it's still current. After a few pages, you cant find a date, you don't want to waste your time on an old site - so you head back to Google.

I agree with Nathan, that is how I feel when I read something, I want to know how recent or old the post is. :)

I appreciate when a blog has a date on it that way you can see how recently the information was posted. I removed dates from one of my sites, but am planning on putting it back on.

i did a site before with no dates on the pages - I thought showing the dates made it look a bit cluttered at the top of the page. But there was an updated widget in the sidebar that I manually added the date to, aong with a quick update / bit of news. So people could see the site was still being looked after.

Hi - I don't like seeing posts where the date isn't shown.

If it's not there, I don't know how relevant the information is to me at that time (think about PBNs and google updates - read an old post, and you could think they were the best things since sliced bread)!

If you update your posts to provide current information, then I see no harm in changing the date on them.

All the best, Mark

Thanks Mark. Thought the same I like to see how old something is - just wondering if others felt the same way

You got many options, I guess it is up to you.

WA has Black Friday. Are there ever any similar jaaxy deals? I'm having fun playing around with it, as it's pretty addictive. But right now there's no need to upgrade. Howev

I will be great if there is also Black Friday for Jaaxy. :)

As Nathaniell has said right now there are the yearly discounts.

I think they give yearly discounts for both pro and enterprise memberships.

Just like anything else. Jay deals and WA year memberships will go on discount. This is a big business.

Jaaxy is so new, I haven't heard of any deals there. That would be great though, wouldn't it? :)

Google indexes the blog posts we make on WA quickly, so just wondering if the links to sites from a blog post here ( not on our own sites ) are Follow or NoFollow.

I'm ass

I would assume follow. I see them in Webmaster tools.

Either way, it shouldn't matter much. If someone wants a follow, WA shouldn't be considered a source of links to your site. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/leoemery/blog/one-of-the-no-no-s-at-the-wealthy-affiliate (see comments from Kyle here)

If someone is worried about having a follow from WA, being a non-relevant site linking to their blog and wants to make it a nofollow, there is quite a bit of speculation that google follows even nofollow links anyway.

But it is an interesting question.

Yes, they are "follow" links. I just checked the link you posted. :=)

It has a target="_blank" attribute to make it open in a new page.

It does not have a rel="nofollow" attribute in it,

Thanks Bob

Great question! Will be interested in the answer! :)

That is a good question just waiting if anyone had an answer

Interesting discussion! Thank your! :)

These numbers may reflect what people search and what's listed in google, but keep in mind that Google may alter what you type for searches.

For example, you may type in "companies", but Google might read company and companies the same way. I'm not sure, but it's worth considering.

If you find a kw with a low qsr, go for it! It's worth trying out.

Thanks nathaniell - will bear that in mind.

Ian,

When it comes to using keywords there is no reason you may not exploit company, companies or whatever if they have good #'s.

When you get looking at the scoring however bear in mind those scores are based on 1st page Google placement.

So if you are writing new stuff within a specific niche it may take some time and continued additional new content on your site before things take shape.

Also bear in mind that there are other variables involved in getting good SERP from Google than just keywords.

Great post to open an area of discussion that I am certain confuses many so thanks for the post, all my best,

Gary

Thanks for the advice Gary
