Oh, my unruly ruffled feathers!

Still trying to calm down. I've only gone Premium for a little more than a day, and I had the most awful experience with an Ambassador (ranked within the Top 50) who was very helpful with a comment I posted asking about "Low Hanging Fruit (Keywords with Low Competition). I thought, oh wow. This person has a lot of credibility, I'll note him/her down as expert for future advice.

Not even a few minutes go by, and I decide to help someone else who was experiencing the same issue I was going through yesterday. The difference between us was she had this issue for a week, and I for only a few hours. She never spoke with Support, and I was able to chat with Support and resolve it online after watching a video of how to properly do it. What we had in common? We initially followed the same tutorial on how to do it. The issue for those curious? How to get a GoDaddy domain to point to the WA nameservers. :) Yay. What fun.

Please don't get me wrong. I LOVED the tutorial. It was very well-written. The author really knows how to write and teach. :) I was able to go through the steps until I reached Page 4 of 4. I read and re-read that tutorial for an hour wondering if I had missed something pertinent, but nope. I even read aloud each line carefully to make sure it wasn't my eyes deceiving me. Hahaha... :D The only thing I believe the tutorial was probably missing at that point of my frustration were screenshots to at least demonstrate where on the web site the author was referring to for each step.

That drove me nuts! I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided as my last resort to ask SiteSupport since I couldn't find anything to help. ;) Anyhooo... They sent me a link to a video tutorial that in the end, solved my issue (and I finally got it transferred over successfully!), which leaves me to realize that the tutorial I had spent a good first hour on was just obsolete. Just that one step. That's all. No biggie.

Anyway, back to the person who experienced something similar... let's call her Betty. I started by asking her if she had unlocked her domain and updated the nameservers in GoDaddy. Then, the Ambassador that I had respected for 10 minutes commented by giving Betty the link to the tutorial I had issues with yesterday. Just yesterday! I replied to Ambassador's comment to let her know that the steps beginning in Page 4 was inaccurate, and that I had so many issues with that last page, to give Betty a simple heads-up. Gave the Ambassador the short version of the story I just told you here, and the Ambassador downright dismisses my comment by saying that the tutorial is PERFECT. Nothing is ever perfect. Even I understand that. Site functionalities change. Tutorials may stay the same, or they may become obsolete. Even some of Kyle's Get Started Here videos are a LITTLE outdated, but as long as I can follow along, I'm totally flexible. We're all busy, so we can't ever be sure all of the stuff we post up on here will stay accurate two months from today. At least check it out for yourself before insisting that a tutorial I personally spent a solid hour on just yesterday with no success is PERFECT, Ambassador. LOL. Ummmm. Yeah. :D

I posted the rest of my notes so Betty can at least try my way. Poor girl has been stuck for a WEEK!

I ended up sending Betty a private message because I just didn't want to deal with Ambassador anymore. I guess Ambassadors are just like you and me. Even though they rank within the Top 50 even they make mistakes. And here I thought Ambassadors were the good guys who KNOWS ALL about WA. Hahaha... :D Kinda makes me laugh. I still have the utmost respect for those in Ambassador status. I just need to update my notes to be careful when commenting around this particular Ambassador's stuff, is all. ;)

And... I'm gonna smooth out my ruffled feathers. Breathe in, iirai........... Breathe out. And, I'm over it. Moving on. (Thanks for listening. You're a champ if you were able to read this to the very end! :* )
