How do I get to chose a direction on the Affiliate marketing course here. I really don't know if it has to be different from my website niche? Who can help me please. I am gett
Yes I understand this, yet to promote WA in order to get referrals, with the lectures, it requires choosing a direction! This is my confusion
Bootcamp is to promote WA. The other training (the online certification) is to build your own niche that you are interested in.
Choosing a direction is niche. When creating your content its best to stick with the niche chosen and not mix on one website.

When I did mine, I used 'Ad Inserter' plugin. It made the process a lot simpler and it has come in useful since then for other code that has needed to be put in.
There are also instuctions pertaining to Google Adsense.
Thanks so much, I will try the Ad inserter, because i have followed the instructions, but it still seem am missing something. Though I am struggling with many plugins now.
Thanks so much for the help

The All in One SEO is still asking me to deactivate my Google XML plugin, what could be the cause?
I had this issue too and I deactivated All In One SEO sitemap and kept the Google XML one activated.
Andy.
I don’t understand Andy, it’s asking me to deactivate Google XML, how did deactivate the All in One SEO?
You can deactivate either of the plugins to avoid the conflict.
If you wanted to deactivate the site map that comes with All In One SEO do this:
In Wordpress dashboard click All in One SEO from the menu this will open settings then click Feature Manager and you will see XML Sitemaps listed, click on deactivate.
If you want to deactivate Google XML sitemaps go to plugins, look for Google XML site AP and click deactivate.
It doesn’t really matter which one you deactivate you just can’t have 2 sitemaps activated without conflicts.
Hope this helps,
Andy.
You should only have one SEO plugin activated at a time. If you already had Google XML Sitemaps installed and activated and then activated All in One SEO, that's likely the reason for the message.
Colette and Philip
Hiya Colette and Philip
Sorry for the daft question but I have the same challenge, which one should we delete or deactivate?
Blessings always
Louise
Hi Louise. One thing we have learned here is that there is no such thing as a daft question.
So far as we can understand they are very similar, after all, they are doing a single, relatively simple thing and one is not necessarily better than the other.
We had originally activated the All In One sitemap feature but we later had some seemingly unrelated issues which we referred to SiteSupport. They responded by deactivating the AIO sitemap and installing Google XML Sitemaps, saying there was some kind of conflict going on. That did resolve the issue we were having and we haven't had a problem since. We did ask them what the conflict was about but, as usual, we didn't get an explanation.
So it's really a question of personal choice. We have heard multiple times though that you shouldn't have two sitemap features active at the same time.
Hope that helps.
Philip
Hi Philip
Thank you so much 😁
Another (potentially daft, lol) question if I may. Isn't Google XML Sitemaps the plug in to assist Google in indexing our work?
Sorry to keep picking your brain.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Louise
Hi Louise. Yes, it is, but it's just one of several sitemap plugins that are available and can be used in place of the sitemap creator in All In One SEO. Kyle recommends it in his training: Improving Indexing Times and Speeds By the way, Google is just part of the name of the plugin, it wasn't developed by Google.
Philip
thanks so much Philip, I have removed the All in One SEO. I am using only the XML sitemap now. Thanks for your help
You are welcome, Linus. I just want to clarify one thing. I assume you mean you have deactivated the Sitemap option within the All in One plugin rather than deleting the entire plugin. You do need to have an active SEO plugin of some kind.

I was excited google indexed 4 of my first 8 articles.. But since non has been indexed. I am wondering if it has to do with promotional links on my contents?
Hi - it shouldn't affect indexing, this should happen automatically, and the more content you add, the quicker they should index.
The use of affiliate links could affect ranking, so as Vicki has advised, don't add too many and aways ensure everything on your site is original, and that nothing is copied and pasted.
I have been wondering the same thing.Google indexed my post without affiliate links, but post with affiliate links are not indexed. I have been changing up my strategy by writing post that have internal links back to my affiliate post. I am not trying to trick Google, but if I have to play a game, then I am going to test all of the rules.
If you place too many links Google will not like it so 1 promotional link say every 500 words is not so bad and also it could be down to the keywords being used correctly as well.
If you use keywords too much in an article again, Google will not like it so check these things and finally the length of your posts can help to be indexed as well so always write as much as you can in each post and everything will come together nicely for you I am sure
Vicki

Sometimes when I do check up the speed of my website, I notice the speed record is always in red. I want to know if it's because of the images i use on my posts.
I have been a hobby web designer for several years now, so I will try to give a a good answer from my experience.
I covert all my images to PNG and normally resize to 500-1200 pixels. I try to keep most of the images the same size. I rename all images for SEO purposes.
Large images, say 3000x3500 pixels will slow your site down a lot.
I have read about the effect of images on site speed. You have to ensure all your images are optimised.
If you go to Google PageSpeed’s website and run through test, it will tell you exactly where the slow speeds are. But yes, more often than not, it is due to poorly optimised/sized images
