Things normally update but if your internet connection lapses or you do the back or return button you may find your work not saved.
I have made this error on many occasions myself and I am in London and my internet provider isn't one of the best. In fact they are a night mare especially when we are all online.
I now if I am writing a long article I do not chance myself nor my provider for loosing my work. I update as I go along. Site support are for website support not data support. Too.

There is NOW an option in SiteContent where you can retrieve draft versions of posts not published. Not sure exactly WHEN this ability was added ... only that it was only recently made possible.

Why are my earlier versions no longer saving? I can not retrieve earlier versions of my writing like I was able to do when writing my About post. There is no undo button to al
Hey Tammie,
You can find previous versions of your posts or pages stored under EACH post or page, under Revisions. This option is below the Edit window.
However, be certain to review that the revision you want has all of the edits you wanted it to have BEFORE you click on the "Update" button.
Click on the "Preview Changes" and read your work thoroughly just to be sure.

Not sure Tammie, as the versions below are those that either you saved or WordPress saved. You would need to check each selection out BEFORE clicking on the "Update" button by reviewing EACH restored revision until you find the one you want to keep.

Yes, it does thanks! Prior to this morning I did not have an option to see any of my revisions but, undoubtedly WA was able to fix the situation and I am happy once again!
