Success with Niche selection Issues
Hi peeps,
For the past few days Ive been in a short course on couselling techniques; a course organised for church members. The thought that comes to mind during and after taking such a course is for one to go into pre-marital counselling.
It became clear as training progressed that limiting practice to pre marital counselling was not appropriate for everyone as some could be counsellors but were not married. We were also given a list of categories of people in the church namely the youth, children, men, women, aged, married, single etc.
Whilst we are thinking of how to apply what we've learnt, I contributed by explaining how we coud each look at our strengths, knowlege and experiences in our lives and using the general knowedge we were gaining, apply it to various groups and sub groups in the church; not just those going to get married. The explanation went well with everyone.
Where did I get this idea from if not niche selection. As it turns out the knowledge we've gained in niche selection can be found useful and helpful in a whole lot of situations available all around us. We could even land some speaking or teaching opportunities this way.
Hopefully our lives will be made better as we put what we've learnt here into practice.
Enjoy the day.
Irene

Hi Irene,
Excellent post, and so true, it seems we never think about the things we know and have experienced as being useful or helpful to those around us. You helped put it in perspective. Also correct about the niche part, by looking into a niche and breaking it down into pieces, we can bring other perceptions into play and discover whole sections of ourselves to share.
Thanks and good luck to you.
