Hello everybody,

Many thanks for the answers to my previous question on how to go about getting back into the course after a break. Much appreciated.

This questio

HI

You can create a new user and give them credentials to login site.

They can login independently

[domain].com/wp-admin with their username and password which you collect via site manager.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

Tutorial

I am assuming site has content and therefore, you need get in touch with site support for further instructions on how to migrate it over to WA.

They will typically ask you for FTP info and your domain name, they'll set up a siterubix subdomain and upload files then you can check everything is okay before you point your domain to WA servers.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

However, if no content, you may transfer or point to WA servers (if transferring domain has to end in .com, .net or .org.

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) after the transfer has taken place. To transfer your domain here you need login current registrar and fetch the EPP code, there's a one year charge of $15, privacy included. One year more will get added to your domain.

Also it has to have passed the grace period of 60 days.

Fantastic reply thank-you!

Lots of technical points for me to wonder at too - hence the need for a pro.

The site has been live for over 3 years so it has plenty of content.

When you say it has to pass a 'grace period of 60 days' exactly what do you mean there? It is currently trading and making money (though not much) so it can't sit idle for 60 days if that is what's meant?

Thanks again
Ian

That's great and than-you for the info.

I shall add him straightaway.

All the best
Ian

You should be okay on the grace period, this applies with newly registered domains as they need to be 60 days old or more.

No worries, let us know how you are getting along.

And you're very welcome.

Hi Everyone and Anyone,

I started with WA around May/June of this year but having got halfway through level 2 I had to focus on my other site (and some personal things w

I would go through the task list of each lesson in level 1 quickly. If I don't remember any, I would learn again. At the same time, I will also start level 2 training and apply it on my websites.

I hope this helps you. :-)

Matt

You could try where you left off, but if that seems too difficult,
because this is probably quite new yet, you could do a quick refresher by going back and gaining confidence and momentum again.

Then if you need motivation you can always read some success stories.

If you type "success stories" in the search bar (click the magnifying glass), then you will find details from those who are prepared to reveal them. Such as the following.

Hi

I'd continue from where I left off.

However, you can always go back and forth as many times as you like.

Another thing you can do to tick checklists bottom of lessons, task and activities asked of you to set up properly and guide through the process.

I tend to do a bit of learning, a bit of applying. And I take it at own pace, be sure to ask questions when needing help or have further questions.

We are so happy to have you with us, and we know you are going to enjoy and benefit greatly from the Wealthy Affiliate training here.

Wishing you success on your online journey and business endeavors.

I would simply start from the beginning as a refresher, Ian!

Hi
I'm trying to edit my blog post by adding photos on Site Content after the post has been published but that doesn't then add them to Wordpress? If I want to add pics afte

I've never experienced any issues when uploading a pic through Site Content editor and not have it shown on my website. Just make sure you refresh your website page and clear cache if you are not able to see it/them right away.
But if you prefer to do it through your WP website dashboard after publishing your content, by all means, continue to do so and avoid any complications you may have. All the best!

Hi Ian
You will know by now that you need to add all edits in WP once a post has been published from site content.

In addition, there's a little trick if you want to use images from within site content.

You can put all your images on one page within site content, then publish that page; this will of course publish the page but it will also add the images to the WP Image Library.

Then you go to WP, go to Pages in the dashboard, and delete the page with images. Then you can go to any Posts or other pages in WP and add the images from the Image Library wherever you want.
:-)
Richard

Photos must be added to Wordpress once you have published your post from Site Content.

You may want to check a YouTube video or a demo or documentation for your theme to see recommended size, etc. for a home page background image. Each theme is slightly different.

Once published, all edits have to be done in WordPress.

Hey there Ian.

I always write in site content, publish, then go into wordpress and add my images. You cannot add images through site content once it has been published.
I feel it is much easier this way anyway, because you can work with the placement a lot better.
As for the background image, you can edit that through your customize page, in the background section.

Hope this helps!

Hi
I've just got to the building my own site part - very exciting! I wanted to have a .co.uk suffix but if I'm reading the instructions correctly that isn't possible on the

Thanks again you lovely people!
I was looking at the wrong bit - surprise surprise!
Thanks DianeScorpio for the info, I can indeed buy elsewhere then point the domain here as AbieAJ suggests.
So many helpful people here................

Hello again and thanks to those who answered my question yesterday.
Today I attach a screenshot of what happens when I try to put in my preferred domain suffix - it says it's an unsupported TLD (top level domain?).
I don't want to waste either time or money buying a .co.uk only to find it won't work in the system and as it's going to be the type of blog that's somewhat location specific I'd like to see if I can get the .co.uk before moving on to a .com.

So, one more time, can I use a .co.uk suffix or is the system correct and it won't accept it?

Thanks again for everyone's time and help - it's much appreciated.

Hello from Nottingham! You can't buy a .co.uk domain here, but you can buy it elsewhere and point the name servers here.

That means you will pay your yearly renewal fee to the registrar you bought it from, but the website you build on it will be hosted here at WA.

Hi

True WA do not support a dotcodotuk TLD domain name, however you may purchase your domain name at various other registrars, like perhaps https://www.ionos.co.uk/ -

then point your domain to WA servers (instructions below), however you must maintain domain registration fees with the registrar of your choice.

So your proposed domain name would be hosted at WA, however maintained at registrar.

And no worries, you are so very welcome.

Hi Ian,

You may scroll down to the end of the below page, and then you will see a section called "Other Domains." Just follow the instructions to change your domain's DNS, and it should be alright.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks Matt - I'll have a look now.
Cheers

It can be hosted here, just not bought here.

Hi

You can point it to WA servers.

You may point to WA servers (if transferring domain has to end in .com, .net or .org) however pointing a dot co dot uk.

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain).

Thank-you very much for the info. I'll try and do just that.
All the best
Ian
