Good Day Everyone,

So i have been doing a lot of research trying to get the hang of everything and I noticed someone mention that they have a free email autoresponder rig

Good question and answers, ive saved this.

I really like Aweber. :)

Thanks Crissie, will check into that one.

I know Mailchimp is free for the first 2000 subscribers, and you can send up to 12000 emails a month. After that you'd need to upgrade to a monthly service.

Other services like Aweber and Getrespone offer 30 day free trials.

Hope that helps,
Steph

Great question, I will bookmark this. Thanks!

Thanks for posting, it helped me out also :)

Aweber is used by many Ian!

Hey Ian,

The following is a site CLAIMING they offer free autoresponder, so try before you jump right in... http://www.listwire.com/

I believe a lot of people us Aweber for this purpose. I don't have it set up yet, but am always reading posts about this.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand the full concept of driving traffic to my page. Every video I have seen and everyone I have talked to gives me the what to do but n

Here's a break down for you:

BEGINNER SITE
1. Top Google Ranking on low hanging fruit keywords: 4 to 6 months
2. Social Media Advertising: Immediate Traffic, low conversion (if you know nothing about email marketing and sales conversion) - Waste of money if you do not know what you are doing - High Risk
3. Google Adwords: Immediate Traffic, conversion rate will depend on your write up - Moderate Risk
4. Bing Ads: Same as Google Adwords - Moderate Risk
5. Other sources - Not available to beginners (e.g. guest posting, featured in news site as publisher)

Advice: If you want quick traffic to your site, my advice is to use Google Adwords or Bing Ads. BUT, PLEASE TRACK YOUR SALES CONVERSION RATE.

If you don't track your conversion, you are wasting money. Same in any advertising space.

If your sales conversion rate is low, it is time to re-write or modify your article.

I am in this for years, so it is up to you if you want to take my advice.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
Jack

Thanks, that's great info!

I have found that posting your content in the social media like facebook, twitter, google+ as well as the free add a link sites or ad sites are the cheapest and easiest.

Thanks for replying to my question.

Would you mind providing me some free add a link sites or ad sites? I've never really heard of those.

If you google submit a link for free you'll get pages of them. Good luck to you!

Valid question, but really the fastest most effective way would be paid advertising. I hope is someone will correct me though.

I have noticed that whenever I leave a comment via the "Site Comments" I'm able to use my Gravatar but when I leave a comment directly on a page my Gravatar doesn't show up.

Hey Ian,

Make sure that you are using the same e-mail address that you use to set up your Gravatar for your WordPress username.

For instance, if you're gravatar on WA is setup with Ianmail@youremail.com you also have to use the same one for your Wordpress username(s) as well.

So if on your WordPress you are using IansOtherMail@yourmail.com your gravatar won't show unless you set it up for that e-mail address too.

Hope this makes sense and helps :)
Marlinda

Thanks for responding!

But my wordpress is ok. It shows my gravatar.

What I was referring to is like when I'm browsing the web looking at other peoples sites and blogs, if i see a post i want to comment on, when i leave a comment my Gravatar doesn't show up. Does that make sense?

If so do you know how to fix that issue?

So I hear a lot of people say it took them 3, 4 or even 6 months to make money online. Though I'm in no rush because I do understand the process (which is why I paid for a full

When I got started, I didn't want to come across as being too "salesy" so my affiliate links were not very prominent. I suspect many of my visitors didn't even see them.

Another member who was getting good sales looked at my site and told me I needed to be more aggressive with my affiliate offers.

You don't want to be over the top, but you want your visitors to see those affiliate offers. That made a big difference for me.

After things are set up it all comes down to traffic and conversions.

Since organic traffic is the primary business model here (content) that takes time and is the path of less risk.

However if people want to speed things up then they can spend money on paid traffic and have people coming to their site in a matter of days.

But here's the problem with paid traffic for a beginner, the risk is very high (big learning curve) and the cost can be high as well.

It takes a lot of testing a tweaking with paid traffic and many people do not want to spend or cannot spend the money for this.

So it's best to get a firm understanding of how things work first - the basics - and that's best done by understanding organic traffic first.

Ok. That makes sense. Thanks for the advice!

It's all on the backend of the work you do.
Most people give up, but if you keep going you will make a bit of money, then it dries up, make some more, etc, but it comes to a point when you realise that you can actually do this!
My best advice is that confidence comes from experience... keep working hard and learning along the way! :)

Thank you! I will most certainly do that.

The biggest difference for me to making a good monthly income was traffic to my site and building an email list using an autoresponder. Huge difference once I started that.

"What takes so long to make money?" It doesn't it depends on how much work are you willing to do and doing the right thing.

Ok! that makes sense. So I guess what I'm to figure out is...
What is the right thing?

I see you said building an email list was crucial for you. I'll definitely take that in to consideration and put that into place.

And How did you increase the traffic to your site? Like what did you start doing differently?

There are a number of ways to drive traffic to a site using a lot of different sources such as social media. Getting traffic from Social Media is taught here and it works. While waiting to build content spend time doing things like Google+, Facebook etc. to get traffic.

Content is king and very important but not the only way to get traffic. Some of it is free and some of it is paid.

It's generally due to the time it takes to generate sufficient content to have a large enough 'footprint' on the web so that you're getting traffic.

Ok, so mainly it's about the quality of content one is providing?

Exactly.

@onmyownterms : I have heard from others that you are supposed to "dribble" out content slowly so it looks organic. Let's say you can work on this 40+ hours a week slamming out quality content to quickly grow a site. Should you? Or with the same amount of time and level of content creation, work on several sites so it looks more "organic" to the search engines. Please forgive the NewB question, I have not gotten to that part of the WA training yet.

I want to set up a link within one of my pages but I want it to go to a specific point within another one of my pages... Is that possible?

Definitely...tak a close look at what Moritz suggests...

Thank you. I checked it out and got it all figured out. It was actually pretty easy.

Hey,

it is absolutely possible.
Instead of typing it all myself, I just give you a link to a blog I just found.
https://www.wendycholbi.com/anchor-links-jump-links/

I am not associated with that website.
Only checked if the instructions were correct and it should work as it's explained there.

If you need any further help, just let me know.

Moritz

Thank you! I'll check it out.

I just tried it on my test website and it works without a problem.

After adding the anchor code to your page/post, you have to use the full link + the id for your link.

Example:
ww w.YourDomain/YourPostUrl/#anchor

It is mentioned in the blog I linked to as well....at the bottom.
If you only use #anchor as your link, it will only work for anchors on that same page.
If you want to link to another page, you need the full link.

Cheers
Moritz

You might have to look for a certain type of html code for that. Try googling.
