Fearless Friday
Hello Wealthy Affiliate friends
I hope you are all well.
Today I had run a training day over Zoom – delivering the training was the good bit, the zoom bit filled me with fear! I started to feel this fear yesterday so I knew then I needed to get a handle on it.
I think it was the fear of failure that kicked in most.
What scares you?
However, knowing that all fears are learned, as no one of us is born with fears, I knew I stood a chance of overcoming that fear.
Fears can be unlearned by practicing self-discipline repeatedly until it goes away.
During the fear of failure our inner critic often shouts and screams “I can’t!” This fear bluntly halts any action and it becomes an inner voice and barrier that keeps us stuck.
One way to overcome this is to visualise yourself performing with confidence and by doing this you develop the courage you desire by disciplining yourself repeatedly to do the thing you fear until that fear eventually disappears.
As the fear grows smaller your confidence grows and your fears lose their control over you.
.“Fears are educated into us, and can, if we wish, be educated out.”
— Karl Augustus Menninger
After some serious self talktoconvince myself that that inner critic is a complete liar my fear about today started to shrink.
“Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our own fears.”
— Rudyard Kipling“
Thankfully today was a success and what I presented, didn’t cause the world to end, like I feared it would yesterday
“I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.”
— William Allen White
I was full of fear when I signed up to Wealthy Affiliate a few months ago, not knowing if I would ever accomplish anything through it – but I have, by continuing to show up and follow the training and face my fears and I am gaining more confidence that:“Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.”
— Japanese Proverb
I hope you have had a fearless Friday and that you have a wonderful weekend
Take care of your future self and not your fear.
Until next time
Tracy

My favorite quote on Fear is "The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself!"~ F.D.R.
Thanks, Tracy!

Awesome blog Tracy. I'm so happy that you've managed to control your fear today instead of the other way round. You've shown fear that despite its interference today, you were still able to write this positive post. Good on you Tracy
Well done! Keep going!
Fear kicks in many times when we attempt something different. It's what we do with that fear that allows us to succeed. I assume you completed the Zoom call successfully? Many in this virtual world we have to work in feared it and then found it works out fine in the end.
My wife feared Zoom calls when she was used to teaching in person, but through mine and others encouragement she got used to it.
I curve ball was given when they moved to WebX and that fear crept in again, but I reminded her it was similar and just learn the nuances she needed. Now all good. Wish you continued success.
Thank you for sharing that experience. Good to know I am not alone. The zoom call did go well for me today, thank you :)
