Want to Make Money Online? What's Your Motivation?
Making money online might seem utopic for a lot of people, but nowadays it is as real as it can get! Anyone can do it! You only need two things, proper motivation and willingness to take action. The rest will come naturally!
Do you know what the most precious thing we have?
The only thing in the whole universe that, when you lose it, you will never get it back?
TIME!
The reason why I found Wealthy Affiliate, was because I wanted more time with my family!
I had a nice job with a good payroll, but it was taking me too much time. When my older daughter was born, I only had two days off!
I lost a lot of her first year, and I don't forgive myself. So I had to find a way to fix that.
I started to browse the web for ways to make money online
One night, while surfing the web scavenging for a solution for my problem, I found this page about an early retired US soldier.
And after reading his story, I realized that he was in the same boat as me, he was always away from his family. I wanted to know more about how he fixed our common problem.
That's when I stumbled upon WA. I was so skeptical that I didn't even take full advantage of the first free week.
I have a solid IT background what makes me approach any online program with care.
But I kept coming back, and one day I went premium, that was the best decision I could make because it was a life changer for me!
Make Money Online Is Not a Motivation!
You need to figure out why you really want to make money online.
That way you will have something strong pushing you through, finding your real motivation will ban procrastination.
Wealthy Affiliate didn't teach me about creating websites or about search engine optimization. It taught me how to turn a site into a money making machine! And for that I'm thankful!
My only regret was not have found Wealthy Affiliate back in 2005 ;)
Get the grasp of your own time and use it wisely! The clock is ticking!

Time and health are both precious commodities to me. At this stage in my life my children are not so young anymore but seeing them and other family members means traveling across the country. I'm motivated mostly by the flexibility aspect of being able to work from wherever.

Mobility is undoubtedly a great motivation, being able to work and earn on the go is quite something!

We wish we had found WA about 5 years ago as well when we were doing our in-home pet-sitting business. We could have started then. But oh well, we are all here now.
We are motivated because we need to make an income in our retirement. Social Security is not enough.
We have had our own brick and mortar businesses in the past and some were successful, others not.
Fast forward to recently when we had hotel management jobs at a boutique B & B in Quito Ecuador. The French owner decided to sell the property so we lost those jobs as well.
Enough, we said!
So we scoured the internet and one day I just happened upon WA. We were so lucky not to have lost money on other shiny objects out there.
It is the perfect fit for us because we just don't have the energy or funds for yet another brick and mortar business.
But we are very disciplined and know how to make our own business work. The hard part is just learning a new business, which we are slowly but surely doing.
We love to live as expats, which we have done for many, many years and we will be making another move this year to a beautiful place where we have great diving, our other passion (and former profession).
So, that is what motivates us. The need and desire to keep working. We love our lifestyle of living in interesting places and our goal is to keep doing just that.

And let me say this, you guys look great! It has to do with your lifestyle, keep it up!
I love anything related to the ocean, I surf (bodyboard) since my 13's, and I've spent more time inside the oceans than the "common" mortals.
I haven't made any research, but If you both have diving experience that can look like it can be a great niche.
I'm imagining scuba diving lessons, and beginners "how to's" posts and videos on beautiful places, best of equipment for the price... etc so many things you can explore.

It is our plan to have a scuba related website going forward. Probably next year. We are developing some ideas for this now.

We do try to stay in shape not only because we enjoy it but we have so much more to accomplish and we also are still avid divers.

Initially my motivation was to make money online.
And actually it still is.
To break it down a bit -> I want to make such an amount that I can quit my job. Then I am able to invest more time into the internet marketing.
But most important thing is – that I can work from anywhere in the world with internet connection. That is my goal.
To me that is the most beautiful thing – that you can work in the plane, in the lounge ... whenever and wherever.

So basically what you are saying is that making money online is the GOAL, your motivation is to become a digital nomad.
You want to travel the world and create content as you go to feed your online business and make money online.

Thank you Pedro. The "Why" is the most important motivation I agree.
I'm still working at age 72, there always reasons we dod what we do.
But my online endeavour, always a hope, is a focus for me to finance my next 20 years on the planet.
There are all sorts of reasons people want passive income, it's some times called and promoted.
The incomes we learn here my well be passive, but there's persistant inspired activity to build that passive model.
But that's not the why is it.
I can see yours, those two daughters etc. and the time you've missed with them.
I look forwrd to reading more of your work. Thank you for inspiring me too.

Don't get me wrong, there is no shortcut. You still need to work, it just gives you the flexibility to do it when and where you want.
It also allows you to work with a "clean mind" which kind of boosts productivity! ;)

That's interesting! What kind of therapist are you? I work with in psychiatric area. I know some individual therapist, psych/ behavioral therapist, speech therapist, physical therapist, and occupational therapist. They all really making big change to those children's lives.

I am a psychoanalyst therapist and I work with children affected by autistic disorder, down syndrome, dyslexic children, those suffering from attention deficit with or without hyperactivity and also retarded mental development. Right now with everything going on in the world, I really feel blessed to work with such extraordinary children.
