Get an unfair advantage to boost your Conversions
Hi fellow affiliates, what I want to share with you guys today is how to bring people attention to your websites using a marketing strategy that gives you an unfair advantage over your competitors.
I have been researching a lot about conversions, after all, converting visitors into "buyers" is what we for a living.
We need to create awesome content so we can rank up on google and other search engines, but once we are on the top the job is only halfway done!
We need to keep our visitors inside our website if we want them to convert, and click on that affiliate links!
Change their minds - Make people like you
That's the importance of the about page, we need to build people trust, and how do we do that in a natural way? STORYTELLING!
Must be a true story, or have truth in its core!
If you make people get to know you better, make them care, PROVOKE EMOTIONS. These emotions don't need to be good, you can trigger emotions by making people laugh, sadness, even controversial. If you make people care then they will act!
Sell love not diamonds
For this example, I have made a google search for a jewelry store and check out what I found!
I clicked on the first Organic Result!
Check out their first page without need of scroll down!
First the sense of urgency "TODAY ONLY" then followed by a discount and an easy to memorize code!
Check out how TINNY "see details" is, that are telling the visitor they don't want them to leave the homepage just yet!
A better wedding experience - HOPE / OPTIMISM
Then talked about lifetime insurance + "always there when you need us" - TRUST / CREDIBILITY
Then a "start here happily ever after" button that, once you click it, takes you to product page that starts with a nice slider showing testimonials stories about couples who bought their wedding rings on their shop.
A MUST NOTICE, the only place where it refers quality of the "product" is on the right side of the homepage, away from where they want your eyes to be!
If you analyse this page, all the important stuff are concentrated on the left side so your keep "eye scroll" where it matters.
- Today only
- Better wedding
- Allways there when you need us
- Happily ever after starts here
As you can see on this homepage they are not worrying to show you how pure their diamonds are, they just want to trigger emotions and make you click on that button!
You can apply these techniques on your websites they will work as well!

This is a great post Pedro. Provoking certain emotions in your target audience even applies in the initial creation of your website. It forms part of the UX, which most people don't take into consideration. Colors, site description, images...it all matters...anywho, I'm rambling...
