I am promoting WA with Bootcamp and I understand this is a very competitive niche that will take a longer time to rank in.

Looking at recent advice I want to narrow down

I think you'd have to take a round about way to pointing site visitors towards WA.

There's no point starting out trying to sell WA ( or any money making idea) until you've started to help people solve problems and you've started to build an audience. People buy from people they know, like and trust.

Go to parenting sites - the ones where Dad's hang out. And also Moms - look for what Moms are complaining about when it comes to their husbands. Start listing all the common problems familes have & also how many of those issues can be put down to the father not spending as much time with their kids as possible.

Also read a bit about parenting and offer some advice on the forums - get your name known. Most parents don't read any parenting books - so it'll be quite easy to come across as being knowledgeable than the average parent or have a wider range of viewpoints and opinions on different aspects of parenting.

At the same time make a site with a personality.

Your current site gives information about making money online & building a site but doesn't have any personality. It's a generic WA bootcamp site. ( Nothing wrong with that but as you have realised, it'll be very hard to rank it. )

Make it more about you and your experiences with kids and problems you face etc.

The aim is to first give some good advice and info that will help Dads with problems they face about any aspects of being a Dad.

Then point people towards a solution - which is making money online - and that in turn leads the various ways to do this including WA.

Hi Ian

Thanks for taking the time to provide such an in-depth answer.
And a very helpful one.

I agree with your comment on my site, I do need to get more personal and personality into it. It's been in the back of my mind as I have been adding content.

I tend to be an information focused person (surprise surprise), so I will work on that for sure.

And those forum sites are a great idea, it is the little prod I need.

Do you think a new site would be needed for this, or is it possible to alter the existing one?

I am thinking with a different perspective, that would require a newly branded website...

Thanks again man, I really appreciate it.

Wade

Wade this post from Kyle might help.

Present as ever. Will take a look see into that.

As far as I know you use your brand page, that is why you create it. Cheers Kev

I too have been wondering about this. Will be watching here!

The branded G+ page that is associated with your website is an extension of your brand. Your website being the main content publisher, all you would do is post your link to your G+ page like you would your other (branded) social media accounts.

Cheers Beau.
That is what I thought would be the best plan of attack for keeping the brand image strong.

I just wasn't sure if linking to both G+ pages at the same time with new content would be allowed (or not the done thing).

So if I am reading you right, I link it to both the personal and brand page?

There will be no penalties because your posting from your branded site to your branded G+ page.. Duplicate penalties dont work like that.

I would just share your website to the branded G+ page.. No need to post to the personal G+ profile UNLESS you are your brand.

Cool thanks Beau

That clarifies it for me.

Cheers

I am writing a post for my website to help give visitors a realistic timeframe for results for an Affliate site.
I know the results will depend on many factors, however i

7 weeks! Small but you have to start somewhere and gradually building it up! Cheers, Lisa

Nice, that's a great effort. I like what you are doing too.

Considering I was already an established professional this is probably very un typical however within about five weeks after getting to wa I put up a new website fighting WordPress all the way. I also established my Advisory Group. On the 5th week we sold a computer through Amazon and that was my first commission at wa. It was not my first Commission because we have been doing this since 2008. But it took about five weeks to make the first sale through Amazon.

Thanks for that.
Yeah it is interesting as all of our experience will be different going into this so will play a major factor. And of course how you monetize.

I haven't received any yet Wade but my traffic is increasing. It has been up only two months but is getting better.

Cheers Tim.
Great to hear that your traffic is increasing. Good sign that your keywords are working.
I am sure you will start to convert soon, can't wait to hear when you do.

I have tried to gather info on my site through SEMruch but it says there is no data as I am not in googles top 100 for keywords.
I have found a post of mine on page 2 of goo

If it's for the site in your profile, then it's just a month old. So not surprising it isn't in SEMrush yet. Unlikely that all your keywords are on page 2 after just a few weeks. That usually takes months.

Put the site & KWs in serplab.co.uk - it's free. And you can track them all there.

Cheers for that.
I was thinking it was still early days, just concerned that my keyword choices may not have been the best.
I have just gone into my site and tweaked all my pages keywords as I didn't have them set-up as well as I should have.

I wouldn't start worrying about where you are on Google yet. As the months go by you'll learn more about what good KWs are and you're writing style will probably also improve - as most things do with practice.

Then it's time to go back to your first posts, and with the benefit of hindsight, add a bit more content - you'll realise you missed something or could have added more detail etc - and check KWs.

Good information Ian, I agree with what you are saying! Sometimes we can spend to much time looking at statistics and not writing quality content!

I am looking for a shortlist of the best keyword research tools available both paid and free are OK.
Any suggestions would be great.
Cheers
Wade

The keyword tool in WA is good and it is free which is better Wade. If you want to spend the extra $20 a month Jaaxy has some great features . Try it out like Tiny said and see what you think.
Tim

Thanks Tim.
I am building a small list to add to my website with suggestions to help my readers.
I have found the keyword tool here very useful indeed.
Cheers

I use the one hosted by WA and it works for my basic searches. Jaaxy is another great one that you can also access through WA and gives you a 30 Free Searches and then has a membership fee for continued use.

Hi TinyTot.
Thanks for your response.

I have just signed up to play with Jaaxy to get a feel for it and compare to our free keyword tool here.

I am also looking at some tools outside of WA to test out as website post research.
Cheers
