Hi. If I don't renew my WA premium membership and revert to a non-premium member, can I keep registration of my domains here at WA?

If this happens I am not going to ha

For any websites hosted here, you need arrange alternative hosting for your website before your subscription ceases as you would be locked out the platform, site support back ups are only available for 60 days.

You can never revert back to being a starter.

I also suggest you backup your sites, you can use the AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended
.
Also domain names must have passed the grace period of 60 days.

Failed billing has a grace period of 10 days before accounts are closed.

Thanks Abie. Can you please explain what 60 day domain name grace period is? I am a bit concerned about that as WA support have not informed me about this at all.

Say you purchased a domain name today, you won't be able transfer it elsewhere unless sixty days has passed. This is standard with all registrars not just WA.

I have also read your note below and that's true you have access to site domains to manager your domains.

You will need hosting to use your domain names.
Before you cancel your membership at WA if you have a domain with a built website you will need to back it up and find another hosting service so you can continue to develop your domain website.

Hi - once you have been a premium member, you can't go back to being a free starter again. If you cancel your subscription, you will be locked out of the platform.

If you do decide to quit, please do understand that your website hosting will be turned off immediately when your membership ends and your site will no longer be live on the internet.

And after 60 days, it will be deleted.

If you want to retain your work, you will either have to resubscribe (which is very easy to do) or you will have to move it to another host while you are an active premium member.

And, of course, if your niche includes promoting WA, then you would no longer earn commission from any referrals, or be paid for those you might already have.

Thanks Diane.
Just for anyone reading this, if your subscription ends you are not 'locked out of WA"... you are locked out of The SiteManager.

WA Support: -
"Once your WA membership is closed, you no longer have access to the back office of the website located in the SiteManager area of WA"

Me: -
"I will still have full access to the SiteDomains tab only in WA?"

WA Support: -
"Yes, you will be able to manage your domain names registered at WA even if you are no longer an active subscriber."

I will be moving content to Google Sites and pointing my domains from WA to the Google name servers before my subscription with WA expires

Hi - thank you for the clarification. So, in effect, you still have access to the Site Domain tab, to retain control of your domains, but everything else is locked, such as communication, training, etc.

Good luck in your new future!

I have given myself until June next year to start generating a minimum level of commissions. If I don't hit the target I will be leaving the WA Premium Membership. So my questi

We do hope you meet your goals.
Do make sure to ask questions when they arise.

If you choose to cancel your membership, it will be necessary to find another hosting company for your domain websites. Here are some things to think about and compare when looking for another hosting company.
WA Platform links
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/domains/

As a non member you will not be able to get a commission for referring others to WA.

ok thanks. Hopefully, I should hit my targets but need to cover off the worst case!

I thought it used to be the case that non WA members could still refer people to WA but not get as much of a commission as members?

No you need an account in WA to get a commission.
Here's some WA affiliate program info.

Thanks AbieAJ. WA use site Rubix right? https://siterubix.com

So why can I not continue on that hosting platform but without the WA membership?. Costs should then revert to the siterubix platform hosting?

Siterubix subdomains remain the property of WA.

Because hosting is included in your premium subscription to the platform, and once you become a premium you can never revert back to being a starter.

Even when someone is a starter, they would be able to use their siterubix subdomain for a period of six months to allow them to add content, then they have to decide whether to continue or not.

Also once your subscriptions stops, you will not be able to earn commissions on your referrals.

ah ok... so starters can make referrals and earn commissions but once somebody has upgraded to premium there is no downgrade to starter membership, and in therefore not possible to make any referrals to WA?

If starters get referrals, they get half commissions paid vs a premium gets full commission.

Exactly, once premium you can never revert back to being a starter.

As long as you remain premium, any referrals sign up and if later upgrade to Premium or Premium Plus you would get commission.

Not the case, then no.
