How To Be Google's Friend - Don't Force It!

I really like to use this analogy when I try and explain how you rank in Google, and to explain the difference between Indexing and Ranking.

Imagine Google is this big hot shot that throws parties all the time and anyone is welcome. Now of course everyone wants to go straight up to Google and talk about things right?

Google is in the middle of a conversation with much older friends, they have been to many of Googles parties and they talk more and more each party.

Now, you go over there and show off your new site to Google, and Google tells you to buzz off, I'm talking to old friends.

Can you blame Google for not wanting to listen to anything you have?

Now imagine where you show up to Google's party and you don't bug Google, but you do have some pretty cool things that you just learned and you are telling people about it. The more you do this at Google's parties, the more you start to get noticed by Google. You may not get noticed right away, you could have complete trash...

Google sees that you show up pretty often and you haven't been annoying, so eventually, Google will come take a look at what you got. Google wants to be friends with everyone but not annoying guests!

Now, lets take this and put it in real terms. You have a website, you don't need to tell Google about it right away, but if you do, do so by fetching it with Googles Search Console. You won't seem annoying but you are letting Google know, you did come to party!

The more content you create and bring to Googles Party, the better friends you will become. Simply Showing Google your content by fetching, most of the time end up in getting your content being "Indexed." Google has seen your work and will need to see some more!

The more parties you show up to with new content, the more Google will want to associate with you. The more trust you get from Google, the more rankings you will see in the search results.

Make Friends With Google By Offering Content To Google, Don't pay for anything that claims they will take your new site and get you lots of traffic. Work With Google. Google is the Big Hot Shot, Give Good Content And Earn Trust. Don't Demand It! ... Earn It!

Does This Make Sense To You? Let Me Know What You Think!

Thanks,

Kenny

That makes sense...

I tried my hardest to make it so! :)

Love it!

Thank you! :)

Yes...excellent visual of the process. Thanks. Debbie

Thanks, Debbie! :)

Great Analogy,

I am just happy that I have WA that got me "In to the party"!

I agree, if you can show up to the party with WA's teachings, there is no doubt Google will find and talk to you eventually! :)

I also have to admit I needed to hear this. Working hard with slow progress right now.

You're just hanging out in Google's Dinning hall, Once Google gets to know you, you will be partying on front stage! Don't give up, keep going, even if it takes longer than you think, all the work you put in is all yours, don't let it be wasted work! :)

great analogy

Thanks! :)

Great post! Explains google really well:)

Awesome! Glad I could explain it well! :)

This is one if the best analogies I have ever heard! Genius!

So, in other words, don't go to the party wearing the brightest colors, yelling, "Look at me! Look at me! I'm here!".Instead, wear something more neutral and talk quietly. If we show up enough times, eventually, we'll get noticed!

This is a good one, Kenneth!

Work to get noticed, not just to attract attention. I'm glad you liked my analogy! I've used it a few times, decided to put it down in writing! :)

That makes such good sense Kenny, it is like anything in life steady as she goes wins the race.

Stay constant is the key Google's trust! Glad you liked this! :)

Good post I really like the attitude that it conveys we can not demand that attention consistency on the other hand will allow us to command that attention both are poles apart.

Great post! Thank you for sharing that with us! One question though? Can someone explain the Fetching process? How it works and what it does? Us newbies may not know a lot or anything about this or even how to go about this. Thanks again!

Misty-

I suggest checking Out One Of Jay's Trainings. His tips are awesome and don't annoy Google! :)

Ok great thank you! That is what i needed!

This is awesome and I agree 100%. This is exactly what I do. I don't want to be that annoying guy at the party lol. Cheers my friend!

Have Fun at the party but don't be the annoying guest that gets kicked out. If everyone follows the training that WA has, no one should bug Google too much.
