Crisis? Just Keep On Doing What You Do Best.

I read an article recently by Nathaniell where he talks about getting over what he calls the ‘3 month hump’.

This is a term he has come up with to describe how affiliates can often experience an increase in self doubt as they progress beyond the honeymoon stage of their Wealthy Affiliate membership. It’s at this 3 month point that many new members appear to over concern themselves with getting results.

I understand completely what he is saying as I remember experiencing the same thing around 3 months after I joined.

There are however many of these ‘humps’ as you progress towards becoming a successful affiliate. At the time you’re experiencing them you can even exaggerate them, blow them out of proportion and believe they are some sort of crisis.

The reality is that marketers who have stayed the course here at Wealthy Affiliate are used to facing various challenges along the way. Obstacles, or humps even, are inevitable. However what is more important is how you perceive them, and ultimately how you respond to them.

The obstacles may come in the form of self doubt or lack of confidence, and sometimes it could be something completely outside of your control that has an impact your business.

An example of this could be that a Google algorithm update has adversely affected your website. When this first affected me I immediately overreacted and interpreted it as a crisis.

In a state of panic I started to question everything about my site, from the quality of my articles, to whether I should be doing more on social media.

There are of course always ways to improve your site. But if you’ve been consistently creating good quality content week after week and month after month, it doesn’t matter if it’s a voice in your head telling you you’re going to fail, or if it’s google doing what they always do. Your business will continue to progress.

Whether you want to call them humps, obstacles, or be dramatic and consider them a crisis, a marketer that keeps on doing what they have been doing by providing valuable content will continue to succeed.

In my time here at Wealthy Affiliate it has become obvious to me that a common trait the most successful affiliates have is carrying on doing what they do best no matter what.

Hi Hraybal,

Thanks for sharing this advice. I can become easily distracted by doubts that I'm doing things wrong or that nothing will work out. But, like you said, it's important to keep chugging along and you'll get there.

Isaac

Hi Isaac,
Yes it’s only natural we have doubts, but it is putting everything in perspective, and then, like you say, keep chugging along is what is important. Thanks for reading and commenting, much appreciated.
