Site Content - Is it Worth Using?

When Site Content was launched last year I did not start out using it immediately. I felt the old way was working fine, so why mess with my system of page/post creation inside my wordpress website builder.

In late September I decided to give it a try due to some recently added features. I now create my content, add my own images and links, and then publish the content.

The only thing I need to do after I publish it is change my text size and type, pretty it up a little, and it is good to go!

But, one of the best things about Site Content is when your content gets ranked, you get an email. You don't even have to check on it. Once that happens, you'll know. Wow, awesomeness!

Isn't that cool?

If I don't see an email that my post has ranked then I know to go back and add some more content, change it up, re-visit my keyword strategy, etc.

Once it is indexed I can continue to watch its progress in Jaaxy's Site Rank.

I hope you have all given this feature within WA a try. I find Site Content to be so useful, including the newer images feature, if you don't have your own images:

The awesome number and quality of images alone make SC an awesome value!

Thanks for checking in Michael! I agree.

I do like the images being right there but I am happy to trawl Pixabay myself as well.

I totally agree with you, access to these images is worth it.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Steve!

Thank you for this post. I used Site Content a couple of times but really did not like the fact it publishes straight to your site. I like to be able to do the finishing touches in draft mode prior to publishing. I like to have a number of posts in draft mode ready for publishing on weeks where life takes over or I'm having writer's block. I don't think it is good to publish and then immediately go into your WP dashboard to bring it back to draft mode so you can finish editing it. I don't want something published on my site that is not quite ready and the editing features in WP are better.

I didn't know that you received an email when it ranks and that is a great feature. However, it is still not enough for me to use Site Content as I think not being able to post it to your site in draft mode is too big a drawback.

Thanks
Megan

Yes, Megan, that is exactly how I felt! That is why I waited to try it. But now, once I write the post, review a time or two, it is ready to go except for font changes and maybe font colors, but that only takes a few minutes.

I built a bridge and got over the way I used to do it and I am fine with the new method. I know my new content is not going to be viewed instantly the second I post it. Don't I wish even given the tens of thousands of hits I get a month on my main website.

Thanks for checking in, Megan! I am sure others share your thoughts on Site Content. I did.

I agree, after I publish, I go straight to WP editor and finish it up. I like the Google Index tracking in Site Content, although I don't know how accurate it is. I also don't care for the grammar checker, I prefer Grammarly. I am just trying to get in the habit of using Site Content, I am sure it will be improved with time.

For me the non-draft option is a deal breaker. When that is incorporated then I will utilise it!

I use Grammarly too. Once the page or post is published Grammarly works well to correct any mistakes I have missed. It is well worth the $70/year to have content that is grammatically correct.
