Can I Donate to Your Site?
"Can I donate to your website?"
What wonderful words to hear from a visitor to your internet space!
I offer advice on one of my websites for people who are having trouble with their RV's. I deal with electrical issues, appliance issues, and others as people reach out to me.
Now I don't claim to know everything, but being a full time RVer since 2008, over one hundred thousand miles driven in RV's, and an RV inspector that has also been trained in basic RV maintenance, I can solve most issues by steering folks in the right direction.
I offer help with no expectations for reward. I do it as a way to give back and help those who have a hard time finding assistance in the busy world of RV maintenance.
Today, a visitor came to my site looking for a solution to an electrical issue with his 12-volt chassis electrical system. He emailed me directly as I have my email address on my site.
He had cut the cord to his 7-pin connector plug in order to replace it. In doing so he blew a main battery fuse that he could not locate at first. Nothing was working inside the trailer.
By offering some ideas of places to check where he might find the voltage drop, he was able to track down the fuse.
He was appreciative and asked "can I donate to your website?" I told him that I don't accept donations but that if he wanted to purchase things from Amazon through my links, or some of my other links, that would be greatly appreciated.
He said he would do that!
The moral of this little story? If your website helps people with their problems, and you are able to offer solutions, either directly from your website content or through communicating with your visitors, you and your website visitors will both win!
