Visitors Closing In On Eclipse In Western Kentucky

Yesterday, the traffic began to build for Monday's eclipse. Western Kentucky Parkway nearly became just that--parkway. A friend from here posted on FB around 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, "I'm traveling 25 mph on Western Kentucky Parkway, and I'm 130 miles from Eddyville." Others reported long lines on I 24 at exit 40, the Eddyville exit.

Motel rooms range in price from 700 to 1000 U S dollars, and nearly all the rooms are gone. People are renting their homes for the weekend for nearly $1000 per night. It really is an exciting time and an exciting event. My home is in the 1.40 minute range, so I'll get to see all of the eclipse. Blessings!

Um? azing! Lol People are even renting their homes? Wow this IS a big deal!

It really is. We are expecting from 100000 to 250000 visitors in the next day. Looks as if we will exceed the projections. Thanks for sharing.

Stay off the roads during the eclipse, it could get messy!

Randy

So right! I don't plan to leave home until Tuesday morning! Thanks.

Terrific Howard! Can you watch it in your driveway where you can park? LOL That's an idea. rent out good viewing parking areas if you have them. It worked for drive in theatres!

Yes, I can. Really not interested in renting! I would let people park and watch, however!
