Do You Like Fountain Pens

Are You Addicted to Fountain Pens, Too

Did I ever mention that I am a fountain pen addict? Yes, I know that addictions are usually harmful to your health.

However, I've had this problem ever since I held my second grade teacher's pen. I promised myself at that time that I would own a fountain pen.

Of course, I couldn't use my teacher's fountain pen. Most won't allow another to write with their pen. I'm not so particular! Maybe it is because I don't own really expensive ones.

I do have an Aurora fountain pen that was given me for my retirement. The pen is quite nice and a bit expensive. It writes like a dream.

Write Daily with A Fountain Pen

Nearly always I write my first draft with a fountain pen. Then when I add the draft to my laptop, I edit and rewrite.

Usually, I write from 1 to 6 hours per day. I wrote my first two novels with a fountain pen. That was a long time ago, and it was easier to correct my mistakes before I used my typewriter to do the final draft.

Fountain Pen Club

Actually, I was wondering if some at WA might like to form a fountain pen club within our members. I would really like to be a part of this club. Let me know!

Just saw this today and it made me thnk of you. There are fountain pens on http://Porsche-design.ca. Really nice ones! And they have an affiliate program on Awin.com.

Thanks so much! You are keeping me in the game!

I love fountain pens. I have owned many but, as it happens, other people liked them too and they just faded away.

My best success has always been with a calligraphy pen, for two reasons:-
1. my writing is atrocious and The pen makes me write slower and neatly
2. Few people can write with them so they tend to not fade away as quickly. :-)

Hey Bryan,
Thanks for your comment. I find that whenever I use a broader nib, my handwriting becomes even worse if that were at all possible.
However, I will have to try one to find out.
Again, thanks for the information! Blessings.

Do a site about Fountain Pens! If you have that passion, others do too, and that kind of niche site would probably do well.

Great Idea, Jeannine.
My new site is finepenlover.com. I have only been on for about three weeks, now.
Thanks so much for commenting and helping me!

Don't just use links from Amazon. I believe there are other programs with fine writing instruments that are not available on Amazon. Having the unique on your site will make your niche site even more valuable.

Thanks for the advice. I have an online fountain pen store that uses eBay as a source. However, I do agree with you that quality shops and online stores offer more for the really fountain pen lovers.
Again, thanks so much for your help! Blessings.

The Pens.com program is on Pepperjam. Cross.com has an in-house program. Lanier Pens is on ShareASale.com. Levenger.com is on CJ. Check them out too.

Thanks, I surely will.

I like fountain pens. I have a Waterman and a Montblanc.

Great pens! Thanks!

I forgot how much I enjoyed using fountain pens back in the day when they were more common. It just felt elegant writing when using one.

Thanks for the memories!

You're right! I never got over the feelings.

They are really cool, I never learned to write calligraphy, but I do own a very nice calligraphy pen, not a fountain pen, one that requires and ink well and all of that fun stuff. I am left handed though so when I try to write with them I ended up with smeary work and a colorful left palm.

Thanks, Chris.
Never but never could I write calligraphy. I can hardly spell it let alone write it!
My handwriting is atrocious. After a class one evening a lady said, "You write perfect howardglyphics. I must agree with her.
However, I love to write with a fountain pen. It does improve my handwriting a bunch.
They are making fast-drying inks for left-handed ones. The inks help to avoid the "smears."
Thanks for your reply. I have sent you a friend request. Best always!

hahaha I couldn't spell calligraphy right either, (seems like it would be one L)
that is too funny! I remember when I was in school and would have to write something on a white board or chalkboard, nobody could read it! Not only do i have bad handwriting I never got into the habit of holding my hand above the board or paper, so my handwriting is a bit worse than normal hah.
I will look into them! I enjoy things that require more "involvement" to do.
Like shaving for example, I have switch over to using a straight razor, much more involved process than using the disposable ones, and it gives much better results (now that I have learned how to not cut myself, ouch!)

Although I am old, I never mastered the straight razor. I'm like the man who went to the barber for a shave. The barber nicked him about twice, and then he cut both cheeks.
The one getting the shave asked if he could get a glass of water.
Concerned the barber asked, "Do you feel faint?"
"No," came the reply from the customer. "I wanted to see if my mouth would actually hold water."
Good chatting!

That is hilarious!
Great chatting with you, and best of luck to you!
