Lessons In Believing In Your Self

Morning everyone! It's a lovely sunny Friday here in New Zealand, and I'm off on a trip around the country next week. Feeling pretty positive about life right now.

The start of the week was definitely a different story. I've been putting my blood sweat and tears into my website, and the training here at WA. It just wasn't moving along quick enough for me and, honestly, I did want to quit. I'm doing this alongside my "real" job (which is raising money for charity over the phone), which is pretty stressfull and target-driven. You can see why i'd want a way out.

This week, I'd grinded to a real halt with my training, writing, and my general productivity. Not seeing any progress with my website, and not believing that it would get better with time and hard work, was wearing me down. Never to fall into the trap of "get rich quick", I anticipated hard work. I've never been one to turn down hard work, either. The sense of gratification you get when hard work pays off is an incredible feeling. I forgot about that this week, though.

Then something happened.

It wasn't huge, but it was something. I receievd emails saying two of my pages had been indexed by google. A start, I thought. Then I looked at my google analytics, and I saw I was had 19 unique users one day, and users coming in and out throughout the day. When I looked there were 4 people active on the website right then! It's only small, and when you're used to users in the thousdands, it would be meaningless. But for me, it was the reassurance that I needed to carry on and not give up.

So, I have continued my training! I'm sharing more, I want to get those numbers up and up. When you want something, you make it happen! I definitely learned a lesson in self belief this week.
