I always say "Go with what you know" or "Go with what you Love". Is there anything that everyone around you comes to you for. I used to always get calls from people asking me. "How do you do this in Word". I've had friends hand me their cellphones to fix or help them with. That helped me pick my niche. I recently started reading a lot more, decided to create a site about it and share the books I read as well as others. In my opinion it should be natural, organic like Feng Shui it should fit your life otherwise it may disrupt it. For instance let's say you pick a subject like Watches. You will have to be the king of watches to be successful and know everything there is about watches. Write about watches, review watches. For me all I need is 1 good smart watch as I'm not a watch person. So for me to have to write a blog or two a day about watches would be work and not fun. I might as well go back to a 9 to 5 job and work on someone else's dream if i'm not going to work on mine. The keyboard I'm typing this on was someone's dream. So is my cellphone. You have plenty of dreams and things you see yourself doing and that is your niche. Some of those dreams and goals may seem impossible but they are not. Steve Jobs at some point didn't think his dream could be a reality and neither did Steve Wozniak. Focus take good notes and be passionate and don't let those around you doing nothing tell you how to do something. Some of the people around you will notice you doing your thing and show interest. Help them and answer their questions like those that answered yours. Show them how you do it without holding back anything including when your working in Wealthy Affiliate and when they ask share the information with them. Some will sign up and some won't but they will all be a part of your team. Sorry this reply was longer than most blog posts

Writing from your heart is the best niche to follow

If i was you I'd aim towards something you love. Something that is an easy topic for you to write about.

The way I found mine is by targeting a small segment of a big profitable niche like affiliate marketing or making money online. I targeted SEO, keyword research or how to improve your ranking in Google.

So it's a very targeted niche and I don't have to be an expert in everything concerning affiliate marketing or making money online... I just concentrate on the SEO part.

But note that this is something that I like to do and talk about. I'm not pretending to be a big expert in it, but I have a certain passion for it.

It's like viyee and all the others are saying here. It has to be something that you like an feel comfortable talking about. And see if there are any product related to that subject.

If you have a thing for a particular sport, or a particular kind of car, or any hobbies you might have, that can be a good starting point and become your niche.

To think about what you are good at and what you enjoy, because when you write a lot of content you need to be interested in your subject.
