A Milestone in Writing

I am not the only one writing for our website, my husband wrote his share as well. Still, over 100.000 words in less than a year is a milestone, in my opinion. :-)

We write our blogs in Google Docs first, because that makes it easy for us to critique each other's posts. So I could publish them directly in WordPress. I did that in the beginning. But then I miss the possibility of the Grammar Check and I miss the statistics and the Google messages, which are motivating.

The downsides of posting from WA are that I can't schedule, it gets published right away and it is published in the Classic Editor. Two minor things, that are solved with 2 clicks. One click to convert to Gutenberg Blocks and one click to put it in draft.

I always add the pictures and sometimes infographics, and the META data later.

The network here in WA is a great bulletin board to help remind us to pay attention to how we are reaching for our goals.

Often finding out that others have struggled with some of the same steps you have and have found a way to work through is inspiring.
Sharing is always a good thing,

Exactly my thought, Sami, I always enjoy reading the milestones others have reached. :)

Hi Hannie
Congrats on reaching that important milestone. It is interesting how we change the sequence of actions when publishing posts. I do all my drafting in WA. This means Grammarly is running and prodding me from time to time. I add all images in WA and I decide on all internal and external links in WA and I paste them into the text. I found that if I add, particularly external links while still in draft in WA, it can automatically add those as external links to all the images I have already added. A bit strange I know but to avoid having to delete all the external links that have been added to my images, I decided to publish and then make all the links.
I also only add any affiliate links after I publish. Most of my posts don't have affiliate links so that is only occasionally.

Onward to the 200,000 mark!

It sure is interesting, Andy, and thanks for describing your way of working. That's how we all learn from each other :)

LOL, yes, I'll make sure I will mention that next milestone. Before that, there are other milestones to celebrate!
