I have just followed the training for installing google analytics via all in one SEO. I've visited my own site to check real time but it's not showing. I've logged off, logged

Hello,
Go to your site's dashboard and check if your settings look like this:

http://prntscr.com/89igs1

My advice is to try saving again and then check analytic again.
I hope this helps, keep me updated if anything.
All the best.

Hi Anh
Yes my settings look exacttly like that but I've literally just checked again and it's working. I installed it a couple of hours ago, so I think it's caught up now. Thank you so much for your help :)
Cheryl

I just installed it. Mostly, I wanted the plugin to code all my pages/posts to help me verify my site with Google.
Ed

To be honest I don't know...:)
But I am sure I read somewhere that it takes a few hours before things start to work...real time included...I'll try to hunt out where I read that...but dont panic..Im sure in couple of hours it'll be all good

Cheers Jason. I'll leave it alone for a bit then......a tad impatient maybe? haha :)

lol...i know that feeling...:)

It can take some time for the tool to work but usually the real time tool should register *fairly* quickly. If you have entered the correct details into Google and have entered the ID into the SEO tool then it should already be showing. In the first instance, I would wait maybe an hour and try again.

Otherwise, I will need more information to troubleshoot your problem further. Sorry, but you haven't provided much information in your post. Some screenshots of the Google Analytics screen and your All-In-One SEO tool would help me troubleshoot the problem further.

foot stamping here....not fair

Thats great. Thanks very much for your help. I'll give it some time to catch up! :)

Jason.....it is lterally 2hrs and yes it's working just now .....clever clogs haha
thanks again :)

All sorted now foxlaw. thanks very much for your help:)

Just to check. You've registered for Google Analytics and have given them your details and they have generated your ID. You've placed the ID into the All-In-SEO tool and you can't see your site in the real time analytics?

Have you registered for the Beta version of Google Analytics which features the real-time tool?

I haven't done a separate reg for beta version, whatever that is lol but the version i have is showing a real time tool anyway, and its showing zero. Is this something different altogether? Thanks for your help :)

When I use the keyword tool for "the best way to whiten your teeth at home" I get....searches = 104.......competition = 38. Pretty good I think.

However when I put the sa

When I did the same search, it showed over 18,000 results. When I clicked on the "10" at the bottom of the page, though, I found this note after the last result listed on page 4:

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 38 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."

Those 38 are the ones being shown in the keyword tool.

Thanks Bobbar for such a quick response.
So are the "similar " entries worth considering. In other words do we include them as actual competition. Is there a reason for them being excluded in the first place.?

Please excuse my ignorance. Im finding the whole keyword thing a bit of a minefield or am I overthinking it all?
Thanks again :)

From my perspective (Take it for what it's worth.):

I'm fairly sure that the results that are listed as "similar" contain much of the same information that's found in the top 38.

Many of them are most likely just copy-and-paste jobs of the top articles. Others are probably software-doctored copies (called "article spinning") with some wording changed to make them appear different from the originals.

By competing directly against the top 38, you'll be putting yourself head and shoulders above those "similar" articles.

Great advice, thank you!
You've cleared up alot of my confusion :)

I'm writing a post on fascinating facts about teeth. Is it a requirement that I provide a link to the source of my information or do I just say where it came from? Thank you :

Thanks Hippychick for posting this question. I really needed this information.

Glad i have helped someone :)

If you're writing in your own words, no sourcing is necessary. If you're quoting copyrighted material, sourcing and permission to reproduce it are necessary, unless you're merely using excerpts as part of a larger original work. Under those circumstances, short excerpts usually qualify as OK under fair use laws.

If you're republishing content from an article directory, you'll have to abide by their rules, which usually require keeping the author's bio box and the links within it intact.

Charlie

Hi Charlie!
Well the information I have found involves lengthy details about a particular fact. But what I have done is just taken the most interesting bits using my own words and listed them as bullet points.
So am I right in saying its ok for me to not provide links to source?
Thanks very much for your help? :)

99% of the time, it's fine if you're simply paraphrasing or rewriting it. Just don't quote anything that's copyrighted directly if you can avoid it.

Charlie

Thanks again :)

Thank you for this important information. I will keep this in mind when I begin to write content.

There is an option to set an internal link to open in a new tab. Is this preferable or doesn't it matter? Many thanks :)

Hi Cheryl,

I wouldn't set that option, most people understand the back button these days, besides if every internal link opened a new tab the user might get lost and confused.

Hi Alleo! Well that's 2 no-no's for the new window then :) Good point about having loads of windows open...I never thought about that.
Thanks so much for your advice :)

This is really up to you. I know Jay (who does the weekly webinars) doesn't open a new window.

Personally I will open a new window if the link is taking them to an outside site. If its an internal link, I do not open a new window.

Jay said "If they don't come back to your page, it probably wasn't worth visiting anyway." Ha!

Hope that helps a bit.....

Hi Bigmook!
I think Jay's right there lol. Great and thank you for answering my question. Everyone here is awesome :)

Glad I could help. Another thing to keep in mind is, so many people using mobile devices today. Opening windows on your phone could get annoying. Best of luck to you Miss HippyChick!!

You too...and thanks. Love your site about me page, by the way. Left you a comment :)

Thank you!!! I'll go by your site, and leave a comment too, but I'm not sure where your site is. (I think we're gonna get along) :)

Hi stephen. Thanks for that but it's not ready yet :) but it will be soon. Anyways it's kind of a practice if you like. What I really cant wait to do is create a site to promote WA, a self development site and a site for cruelty free living. Through these sights I know I can REALLY help people. Oh yea and a photography site for my hubby. So much to do and so little time haha.
ps. Yea I think we're definitely gonna get on :)
