Im new to the online strategy game, currently i have read about choosing a 'niche' before starting to devote my efforts but where does one even start?

Can someone please

Is there any subjects or Niche avenues that should be avoided?
I am net to WA as well as online business. I need help getting started.
Thank you all, very much.

If you can't find any websites promoting a particular niche topic that have affiliate links, then it might not have enough interest to be monetizable. Other than that, I would say you can do any niche.

One way to find out is to look up the niche in the keyword search in Jaaxy (just click on Research on the left and it will come up) and see how many people are searching for the term. If the number is very low there may not be enough searches to make any money from it.

Also you can do a niche website within the fields of religion or politics, but you shouldn't discuss them here inside WA as it is against the rules. There may be some other subjects like that too, hopefully someone else can give that answer.

hey hi Chuck & welcome to Wealthy Affiliate Premium!

Good question and all questions are good ones here!

As for operating well on the WA platform, Kyle has published a post regarding what's acceptable in working on this platform ....

here it is for your reference and use as appropriate ... all the very best to you for every Success, cheerio ... :)

Hi - the top 3 most competitive niches are health, make money online and relationships. That doesn't mean to say they should be avoided, just that you need to really narrow down to a specific subject you are familiar with to be seen as an authority in that niche.

Thank you Diane. This helps me. I understand avoiding certain areas because they are saturated. Can I assume there is nothing really that would be "off limits" or a known area that is known to be a tough area to earn money?

Hi - any niche can be profitable, but ideally, you should choose one which you are genuinely interested in, as you will be writing a lot of content on the subject, and don't want to get bored with it.

The make money online, and specifically promoting WA, is very competitive, and you may need to write literally hundreds of in-depth articles to see any success.

Thank you Diane

What gets you excited to talk about?

Are there any types of people you just naturally make connections with?

What adversity have you overcome in your life that you feel comfortable helping others with?

Use those three questions to see if you can narrow down your options and begin to see a person who you would like to help.

Thank you! Those questions actually help me to at least try an narrow down some ideas.

Start with what you're interested in. Ask yourself:

What do you like to read about?

What are you considered an expert on?

What do you do in your free time?

What are the last 3 purchaes you've made on Amazon?

Hopefully this will give you some good ideas to start with. Basically it's just a topic that people are interested in which has relevant products and/or services you can promote.

Let us know if you want to bounce some ideas around! :)

Thank you for replying to me! I have a lot of interests that's probably why it gets hard for me to focus on just one thing.

Adding what i actually bought lately did at least start to make me think that rather than products, services would probably be something i could focus on.

Are you aware of any member or website that people provide online therapy or share experiences in order to overcome traumatic events? I think i could actually have good input on that area.

Hey, having lots of interests is a good thing! You have a whole lifetime to explore as any different niches as you like!

I mainly promote service-based programs too because I like the recurring monthly commissions.

Trauma/mental health is a great niche you could do very well in. The beauty of blogging/affiliate marketing is it's a total win-win - you do something you find rewarding, share your experiences and help people all while making money AND your readers benefit from great, real-life advice and help.

I did a few Google searches and here's what I came up with...

Affiliate program ideas from WA member Nathaniell:

https://onemorecupof-coffee.com/best-depression-affiliate-programs/

https://onemorecupof-coffee.com/best-mental-health-affiliate-programs/

Another affiliate program:

https://www.online-therapy.com/affiliate.php

Just search Google for something like mental health affiliate programs and you'll find loads. The affiliate program finder inside WA is great too!

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affiliate-programs

Hope this gets helps get your creative juices flowing! Here anytime :)

Thank you so much! I will be sure to check all of the links you shares before i try to get started

I would say based on what you like to do that is where you can start, but if you stuck I suggest the boot camp training to start with for it can help you in choosing a niche.

Thank you that's a great idea
