Just created our about us page, wanting to know if it seems too personal, or not enough?? new to this, just wanted to get some feedback. Thanks much in advance!!
I think whatever you feel comfortable with is fine. I personally don't care for a long about me page, telling everything your website is about, that's just my personal preference. I do think you need to break it up into several paragraphs instead of having one loooooong paragraph, it will make it easier to read.
hope that helps.

Hillary...the purpose of a profile is to help us get a better idea of who you are and what you want to accomplish. How personal you want to make that profile is definitely up to you...what do you feel comfortable in revealing? There is no right nor wrong way to do that!
I think what I would like to see in your profile is what you hope to accomplish. I know what you and your husband enjoy...playing video games, camping, health topics such as eating gluten free, PKU, and vitamins..,but what are you planning to promote?
What are your areas of expertise? What business experiences have you had? How can we, as your WA family, help you?
I do agree with Lb830 that you need to shorten your paragraphs... especially as you continue to blog. As a journalist, I was taught to write short, concise paragraphs as it is easier to read and doesn't make your reader feel as though they are taking a "whipping" just in order to read your piece.
Also, make sure that you at least make your most important points near the start because your reader may not get deep into your article. That way, they will at least get a sense of the points(s) you are trying to convey.
This approach is quite foreign to my English/Language Arts peers. LOL!! While their style of long, well-developed paragraphs is appropriate for academia, it doesn't work very well for the audience we are trying to reach...the "give it to me quickly" bunch.
All in all, I think you are on the right track. You'll find ways to improve your product as you gain more experience. Just remember that we're here to help you. Best wishes for MUCH success.

You are more than welcomed Hillary. Anxious to see your future contributions! Again, best wishes!!
