Hi!
I followed the WA training setting up cookies on website.
Lately I have noticed there is popping up this Compliance check cookie notice where you have to sign up to c

Richard got you covered, Hilde.

Still did not get answer to my question. I already have Cookie Notice & Compliance for GDPR / CCPA installed.

And On the site Health it says my website is not showing the logo.
This is wrong as my Logo is on my website

Hi Hilde
In Europe, and increasingly other countries, you have to give website visitors the option to explicitly reject or accept cookies. There are a number of plugins... I use GDPR Cookie Consent plugin. It's easy to set up.
:-)
Richard

Hi Richard, if I am not based in Europe and my traffic are generally not coming from Europe either, am I right to say therefore that I do not need to install such a GDPR plugin?

I may have answered my own question but thought I should ask anyway just to see if there may be other consideration..

Thanks for sharing in advance!

Hi Hilde
It doesn't matter where you're based... and it's not clear-cut... personally, I think it doesn't matter too much where your visitors come from...
however, I'm not a lawyer so did a search:
https://www.termsfeed.com/blog/cookie-consent-outside-eu/

I hope this helps...
:-)
Richard

As I wrote above I have already installed the cookie notice plugin Cookie Notice & Compliance for GDPR / CCPA as adviced when I started so I do not understand why I get this message everytime I log into my dashboard. All plugins are updated as well.

Ah-ha... sorry I've only just seen the image that you posted against Abie's comment... that's marketing only... not compulsory... I get hardly any such marketing notices with my plugin.
They're trying to sell you the ability to see information that they gather from visitors to your site from within your dashboard.
:-)
Richard

Thank you Richard!

I read an article lately about amazon aws. It seems I have an accoun there from when I registred on amazon as a newbie. But I have never used this. I just got a mail from Amazo

Hi Hilde, wow you got some great answers. Based on them and in my personal opinion I would not bother with renewing the services with AWS.

Best wishes,

Michael

Thank you Michael!

Hey Hilde it's a web hosting and cloud service.. your actually on it now believe it or not ! Hope your well Phil

Alright I did not know. So what can I use it for?

Cloud hosting but I would say you have everything here at WA for that to be honest unless you need massive space for something...like document storage or your running a site like WA

Indeed you are on it now, but it is very much different from your account which you use for purchasing from Amazon and also different from your affiliate account.

AWS is a cloud-based service that provides the business with data centre services and all the devices, servers and virtual network needed to run your business. (Leveraging economics of scale)
The cloud-based service can be tailed to the need of the business and the interesting thing here is that it can be used by all sizes of business. It can be tailored to fit small budgets and it is very useful for many simple and complex situations including AI, Machine Learning, Security services etc.
for example, A small business can set up its network on AWS, they never have to worry about disaster recovery, business continuity or power because all this is provided for them at a single small cost. You pay for what you use and scaling up or out can be done with a click of a button.

AWS has AZURE and Google Cloud as close competitors

If you need technical help setting up your cloud environment on either of the first two, do reach out.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Phil. Then I do not need any other.

Thank you. I will remember that. I do not think I need aws at this moment. I did not even know I had an account there so I will not rene the aws period.

I got a very good question today from a member regarding my ranking results.

these results in my latest blog was generated from jaaxy entreprise siterank in case anyone

Each one uses a different algorithm to determine the results. Simple as that.

Keep in mind that the results are fluid. What is #1 today could be #3 tomorrow and vice versa. So many factors are involved. I always pay more attention to the trend than anything else.

Hi, I found this link may be of interest to you

https://www.shoutmeloud.com/5-excellent-websites-to-check-keyword-ranking-in-google.html

Thank you Abie!

forst question is ...is google showing your post as relevant for the keyword you chose in jaaxy ... or is it oone you expect google to pick...
have you checked your search console to see if google thinks that is a relevant keyword for your post...
thetoth (? thehoth) may be taking your post and finding out what keyword google is ranking it for and hten checking where you are in the rankings...
to me the more accurate is the hoth....
it's not about what you think google should rank you for...
it is about what google is ranking you for....
these are the keywords to track....
phil

Well what about Jaaxy Site rank? My stats are from there. Are they not correct?

only if you pick keywords that are being used by google as relevant......
you could use your original keyword say 'make money online' and google would never rank you for that....
or you could use' 10 ways to produce ....' and you could rank #1 but is anyone searching for it or is google thinking this is relevant to your post....
most people will no type in '10 ways to....' so don't use that as part of your ranking keyword....
check your search console to kind the keywords you are being ranked for on each post....
click on the post and then on queries... use those as guidance....

Thank you! I I will do that and compare. I need to understand how all of this works.
My organic search have increased with over 30% Last month According to Google Analytics.

the increase is good ... now you are starting to gain momentum...
start to look into search console to see the direction your site is being looked at....then continue in that direction....

Thanks! I had almost forgotten about that feature. I remember I used it from the start, but I suddenly became to busy adding content and other stuff. I will definitely use those Insights more.

Hey Hilde,

Long time!!

Very much so.

With updates of posts I generally think people go about it too early.

I have mentioned many times here before that a website is typically viewed as "new" for the the first year.

I've also mentioned that "in general" an article requires a good 35 weeks for Google to do its thing.

Basically, you could have an article go straight to page one, position one after 2 days, but this is rare.

The vast majority of your articles ping up and down the rankings for these 35 weeks, while Google decides how relevant your article is to the search term you have written about.

One day you're ranked position 8, a month later position 35.

The following month position 12, then back down to 67.

That's a slight exaggeration, because if you hit page one "quickly", chances are you'll stay there for a while.

But during this whole "35 week" process for "new sites" (less than one-year old, remember) you will be "dancing" about in Google's rankings.

Finally, you'll settle... although just to confuse you more, the article may change ranking again.

People are forever creating new content around the same keywords.

Google may view their article as "better" than yours or hopefully "worse".

This once again may affect your rankings.

However, after this "35-week period" I am inclined to start updating and changing articles that are on pages 2 or 3 of Google.

I want to give them a boost (hopefully, but it could also have the opposite effect),

That being said, your About Me page is a little different.

It's definitely due an update at this time.

You are now qucikly becoming an "expert", an "authority" in your niche.

You've been doing this a year.

You're starting to understand what works and what doesn't.

So, reflect the changes in your "expertise" in your About Me page.

Talk people through the journey you've been on over the past year.

Where you started, and where you are now.

We as human beings love honesty, and in our heart-of-hearts we love seeing other "normal" people doing well.

Update it NOW.

Partha

Hello Partha and thank you.
I am aware now of the 35 weeks since I read your comment in relation to the person inquiring about how to edit their post if you remember. And I read expert, expertise and authority I love those words they amaze me every time. There's so much goodness in you, my Hero. Thank you for permitting me to call you that I am very grateful to have met you and you inspire me daily to push the buck a little bit further. I am so honored.
Wishing you well and a terrific day.

(Sorry for taking over your question Hilde, but I know you won't mind)

Aww my hero Lula,

If you go to Google and search "Google EAT" this will give you an insight into what they're looking for with articles and websites.

Expert
Authorativeness
Trustworthiness

Expert - what are you credentials?

However, if my niche is inflatable hot tubs, and I own an inflatable hot tub, I use it, I clean it, I fill it up, I empty it, I work with it regularly, I am an expert.

Authorativeness - who else is viewing you as an expert?

In all the Wealthy Affilate training you will see Kyle, Nathaniel, Jay, everyone mention that you shouldn't chase backlinks (other websites linking to your website).

While I agree with this in principle, backlinks can and will boost your rankings, especially when an authority website links to my website.

We are taught to link to other "authority" websites from our own content in order to provide our readers with further information.

Why can't the same be done for us?

Backlinks still make a huge difference in Google rankings, but we shouldn't chase these unethically.

If our conent is excellent, other people will notice, and they will link to our content.

But this takes time.

Depending on your niche, if someone like WebMD, Entrepreneur(dot)com, Neil Patel, Brian Dean, Pat Flynn, MayoClinic links to your website because they enjoyed an article you wrote, Google will love it, and reward you accordingly.

Trustworthiness - Most people start blogging and give up after 1 article, one month, 3 months, etc. they are not trustworthy.

If you continue writing and publishing content for one year, 2 years, 10 years, etc. you ARE trustworthy.

This is our aim when we create a website, this is how we want Google to view us.

Lula, I wish you a terrific day.

Partha

Didnt know but now I do- 35 weeks eh - so be it. Thanks for the info Partha, we will continue walking on this path no matter what 👍

Yes long time since I saw you here Partha😀 Good to see you back!
Thank you for your answer. I will make a new about me page Just like you Said. 😀

Hi Hilde,
If your competencies and education level such as degrees or level of experience etc. have changed, you could consider updating it. As for as I know, search engines place higher authority people's website on top of first pages, based on the reliability and trustworthiness of the information on their website. Such as doctors, lawyers, professional educators and the list goes on.........

I hope it helps and that I didn't confuse you,

Meena

Thank you Meena !😀
Yes I have already decided to change it.

You're most welcome!

I have found that unless you have time relative info in your about page, you don't need to update at all.
Now, if you decided that what you wrote doesn't really describe you and your goals as well anymore, then by all means, update.
Do you set your pages as No-follow?
If you do, then it won't be noticeable when g-bots come around...

Rudy

Hi Rudi😀 I am not sure if I put that page as a no follow or not. But I have decided to update it .

Hi Hilde, I think you have been doing great here in WA. My first answer was to say yes I think you should update the about me page especially if there have been many changes. After reading Partha's comment I would leave it alone unless there has been a significant change since you first wrote it.

All the best,
Michael

Thank you😀 I have decided to update it a litte bit .

Hey Hilde
I think when you feel the need to update depending audience new finds. Not just updating vs optimizing. As a general rule, it should always be optimized to impress however much so authentic and real as visitors can see right through us for example if my content does not reflect my about me, then you are wasting an effort, therefore the priority is to Inspire trust and transparency. Wishing you well and a terrific day.

Thank you Lula, that's really inspiring watching your journey and how you are coming along.
