Work and celebration - A fulfilling day
This have been a quite busy week and not so much time for WA unfortunately. I have been writing on a couple of posts. I hope to get them posted both of them.
Work
I work part time in the home services and we had a very busy week due to public holiday.
I am looking forward to the day I can work from home 100%. That is one of my goals from when starting as a premium member here at WA. I am not there yet.
Working in the homeservices in summertime is maybe the hardest period because most of the regular staff is on holiday. The workload is heavier. This year was special since we had the pandemic just before summer and many sick old patients have been isolated for a long time without the normal activities going on or very reduced offers. It is noticeable. It takes a toll on their mentality as well as their health. This put an extra pressure on the healthworkers too, because we are the only ones they see a couple of times a day. We notice the loneliness out there first hand.Yesterday was no exception. We notice the decrease in activity and how ths affects people.
Celebration
But Yesterday were different, because I was celebrating my Birthday. A 98 year old woman impressed me a lot not only by remembering my birthday, but she was singing and clapping for me too. It really made my day! But I missed hugging people like I would normally do!
I normally do not celebrate my birthday, because it is in the middle of the public holiday when nobody is at home. I use to celebrate with a holiday normally, but this year I decided to work.
I must admit it was a hard days work. Helping sick and old people help themselves to get up in the morning, delivering medicines, giving people showers, helping people get dressed and going to the toilet, doing training exercises. Between 07.30 and 11.30 I normally help around 8-10 people getting out of bed and get ready for the day and the same after lunch. The time pressure is huge.
When I came home the phone started ringing from far and near. I went out to eat with my two grown up sons. Later we had some cake. So there was no time for WA. I took a Day off.
The doorbell rang and florist car was outside bringing flowers sendt from friends.
A fulfilling day
At the end of the day I was so Grateful and tired of work and celebration that I just collapsed totally fulfilled. The best feeling ever.
I slept for 8 hours and woke up with new energy and focus today.I had to post the post I have been writing on inbetween work. Now the first is alredy posted and I am writing on the second.
Have a great weekend Everyone and take care of yourself and others out there.
