If I ask you what you want - What will you answer? Do you even know what you want?
A New house?
A new car?
More Money?
One thing I learned by listening to many of the huge coaches is that you need to specify what you want in order to get it or else it will not happen.
This was a Bingo moment for me the first time I heard it. You need to make a decision on what yu want into detail in order for it to happen.. Did you know that 98% do not even know what they want if you ask them?
Specify your goals in details
John shauff (the mentor of Jim Rohn) said: be careful what you wish for - If you wish for just any car - that is wat you are going to get - you need to be specific in setting your goals. What kind of car do you want. How does it look like? What colour., model etc You have to specify it into detail.
Specify the goals of your business
You do not only want to earn money. You want to earn and recieve money from your own business.You want to earn and recieve a specific number of money from your own business.Setting specific goal are good for measuring as well.
Make a dreamboard to specify your goals
Making a dreamboard is a good way of Visualizing your goals. Make A dreamboard with all the results you want to achieve this year. You can find many templates online, but I urge you to make your own and specify your goals.
Your dreams and ideas are seeds
Another thing I learned was that every dream and Idea you have is a seed. In order for them to come true you have to plant the seed, cultivate it and nurture it before you can harvest it.
Before you started here at Wealthy Affiliate you had a dream. The moment you made the decision to start you planted your seed and by creating a website and adding content you are cultivating and nurturing your seeds.
Being an online business owner is much like being a farmer. You plant your seeds and you take care of them. They take time to grow.
A longterm mindset
You cannot tell your website to produce money today no more than you can tell the seed to bear fruits right after you planted it.
No, you need to do the work. You need to write content. To add value. To be consistent. You cannot expect to get apples if you planted tomatoes. You cannot expect a huge harvest if you do not take care of or water your crop.
Everyone who starts at Wealthy Affiliate have a dream. We all get the same tools, training, blueprint - We all have 24/7 hours a day. It is how you make use of it that makes all the difference.

Very nice outline for goals, Hilde! I already have more than I possibly need, and I came here for excellent hosting, and a website or two to promote my physical businesses. I'm humble and would be quite happy with enough money to honor my obligations, invest a little more for my future, and have enough to help others. Anything else is all gravy!

Of Course Jeffrey. I totally agree. We all want different things. I still have places I want to go, Things I would like to experience and learn, and people I would like to help.
I was not talking about only about material things. Feelings can also be goals. Not everyone is happy with their situation, life etc.
I am a person who like to set goals. It does not suit everyone and that is totally fine.

Hi Hilde, I kind of like what Roy has to say. Plant the seed and nature it.
Making a dream board to specify your goals. Never thought of looking at goals that way.
I really do not have any wants for material things. I have what I need and I am grateful for that.

Hi Michael! Planting the seed and nature it is the same as nurture and taking care of it.
You can do the same with non material things.
When you write your goals down - you plant the seeds. A vision board is just one way of doing it.
You do what works best for you. I am not very material either.
The car was just an example on how to specify a goal. The term car can be everything from a toy car to a top Luxury car. That was my point. It is easy for people to understand what I mean.
But it can apply to any goal material and non material.
I am happy to hear that you are grateful for what you have and do what you need. Nothing is better than that .
But maybe you have a goal of learning something new? Experience something? Helping others? Some relationship goals? Family goals?
I know for myself I will never stop setting goals for things I want to experience and learn.
Hi Hilde, I know what you were trying to say in your post. Maybe my words were not phrased right. There is a goal for me, learn how to communicate better.
I hope you did not misunderstand me because I loved your post and totally related to it.
Sometimes my goals feel like mountain's too high for me to climb, I just need to break them down bit by bit.
By the way, I did love the car. I am at the age where a Rolls Royce convertible would be my dream car.

This is spot on, Hilde. We plant the seed of what we want, but the seed must be that special seed that will get you the specific goal you want.
One of mine is a Lotus Exige 240 GT in British Racing Green colour scheme and cream coloured interior 😎🏎.
I have also envisaged in my mind my ultimate goal for this year, monetary goal, and that is 40 $1000 dollar bills, stacked on the cashier's desk in my bank. ready to be deposited in my bank account.
That is just a couple of my goals.

Thank you Roy! I have also written down in as much details all my goals and made a visionboard. Helps me focus.
The "good book" says make the vision clear. Wayne Dyer said, believe it and you will see it. Many other credible sources say similar things. We need to know what we want, be clear about it and clear about the steps we need to take to get there.

I have had several dream boards and am making one for 2021. Still working on it and collecting the images and words. I still like cut & paste on poster board even though most of the images are printed from the internet. It is meditative for me to sit at the table with paper, glue and lettering piecing and placing my goals and dreams together.
Yes , Many like to visualize their goals on dreamboards. I can understand it gives me a meditative moment too. And It is fun to see at the end of the year.
