Weekly Goal strategy to accomplish your goal
Start the week with a Calendar
My monday starts with looking in my calendar or daily planner. It is a habit I have practiced to do over years now. A very helpful tool that made a huge difference for me is my calendar.
But I did not always use a calendar. Before i started using a calendar I was acting more or less without a strategy or a goal and hoped for the best outcome. Over the years I learned to think more strategically. Picking up tips and tricks from different mentors I had along the way.
Do you have a calendar? or do you leave it all to randomness?
I always plan my work week in details on sundays. So when monday come I know where to start. It is all there in my calendar.
Set priority tasks
Today when I opened my calendar it said: Priority task number 1: Write an article.about.......
So I did. Today I have achieved writing an article because i made a conscious decision to do exactly that.
Set priority goals
I like to set goals every week so I know what I am working to achieve. Do you set goals every week? I set 3 priority goals every week.I make sure that all my priority tasks is aiming to reach these goals and that they get done no matter what.
Measure
But how do I know if I reached my goals? How do I measure it?
Well. It depends on my goals. Sometimes i use a checklist, a score, or I look at numbers.
But when I set a goal I always decide how to measure that goal.
Action
One of my goals this week is to write two posts and post them. What do I need to do get that done?
1. I need to schedule time for Writing.
2. I need to prepare my articles with research.
3. I need to actually sit down and write.
Simple, but from the start it was not so easy. Just the thought of writing 500 words was a mindblowing thing for me. But when you repeat it over and over again it will become a habit and easier every time. It is like learning how to ride a bicycle.
My weeky strategy to achieve my goals consists of at least 3 priority goals a day, constant evaluation of my tasks to make things more effective and better and get better results.
Weekly Evaluation
This is another habit I have been practicing on. To ask myself at the end of every week:
How did this week go? Did I reach my goals?
What could I have done differently or better?
What went well and what really worked?
How can I do it better next week?
And many other questions. That too becomes a habit after a while.
If you do not have a weekly goal strategy I recommend you to create one and get a calendar or planner that you actually make a habit of using every day. But most importantly is to do the tasks that will help you achieve your goals this week.
