Just posted my last post before christmas so now I am ready to take some time off.

Take care everyone and let me remind you to keep distance and follow the pandemic restriction orders for the safety of yourself and others.
Remember family and neighbours who sit alone and give them a call or take them out for a walk if possible during christmas.
I am going to put up the christmas lights and prepare reindeer steak today for tomorrow -
Reindeer steak with mushrooms and wild berries. That is what we eat on Christmas Eve.

We are going to eat Raclette, which is not a traditional German Christmas meal, but which has become very popular in recent years. The traditional German Christmas meal is goose.

Poor, Poor, Poor Rudoplh...
Most kids over here leave a carrot out for Rudolph to eat when Santa delivers your presents.
And you EAT Rudolph, LOL.
To be honest, that sounds absolutely lovely, along with the mushrooms and wild berries on the side too.
I've actually eaten my fair share of "exotic meats" over the years, and enjoyed every single one.
So, I'm guessing I'll love reindeer too.

Now Partha, we all know how kind, sweet, gentle of a human being you are, but please please please don't be easily swayed and converted to eating poor old Rudolph on Christmas Eve, at least wait until Boxing Day ;-)

When you say it like that I feel really bad and sorry for Rudolph.
Well, Santa still give me gifts so he does not seem to mind me eating Rudolph or Donner.
Well, I will have to live with being a Rudolph monster. Sorry Rudolph! Reindeer is the best meat I can get. Not so heavy.
It is not a typical tradition here to eat reindeer. Most people eat pork, Lamb or fish.
You reminded me of One Christmas I was at my uncles farm where we got ox meat. Everyone was crying on that Christmas eve because my uncle slaughtered our favorite ox.
The year after he switched ox with the neighbour (so he told us) because they had the same problem. No one cried. Lol.
Maybe one day, but too late for this year :-) The story about switching Ox is funny haha

I love "game meat", it's the richness to it.
It's delicious
