Why Bother to Comment?
We are encouraged to make comments and feedback on each other's websites on WA with the site comments and site feedback features. These are very helpful, but do you also take the opportunity to comment on social media posts and in groups and communities in your niche?
A thoughtful comment can make someone's day, it can motivate them to keep posting or blogging or adding lifestyle photos and quotes and tips etc. It can help them to deal with grief and make them realize that they are not the only ones in the grieving process. It can let them see whether their content is popular or not.
When someone has taken the trouble to share some information or even just a part of their day with you, why not take a few seconds to let them know that you have appreciated that. Who knows your comment could even be the beginning of a friendship.
Clicking on, like and sharing is fine - adding a thoughtful comment before you share really shows that you have been impressed or found that post or image interesting or helpful.
So next time you are about to scroll on by, spare a second to brighten someone's day with your comment!

Hi, Hilary.
Paul here from Canada.
Excellent 'Food For Thought.' Thank you for sharing your very meaningful post.
Regards.
What a wonderful advice.
Yes, commenting is a good habit to have, the sooner we have this habit, the better it is.
It can lead to new interesting ideas.
The only con I have is time, particularly when you begin, so many things to assimilate.

Thank you Calvin. You are so right about the interesting ideas! Just had one - maybe I will start a 7 day comments challenge on FB!

Hey Hilary,
Thanks for the great post. I was taught to treat others like you want to be treated. I always felt that this even applied here. If I took the time to write a post , I appreciate people reading it. For reading and commenting I also expect myself to comment back to them and not with just a simple "Thanks". They took time to read what I wrote then they deserve a proper response from me!! Just my opinion!!
