The Unlearning Curve
Have you spent a lot of time learning about internet marketing? Following training, listening to audios, reading books about it?
Maybe like me you have become addicted to it.
Have you reached the point where you can create CTAs (calls to action), add affiliate links and even embed banner ads on your website? The more you do these things the easier it becomes and you can even convince yourself that a breakthrough is just around the corner.
This morning I was reading a blog written by a very successful marketer - Neil Patel. He set an intention to create a blog about a subject that he knows very little about - nutrition and make $1 million dollars from it in one year.
If you haven't heard of this guy - let me tell you that he is a genius who has already made multi- millions from blogging. He promised to show his followers exactly how he will do this.
That's when I realized it was time for my unlearning curve. Time to concentrate on building traffic - forget about ads and affiliate links until you have got a large number of followers and built a decent sized list. That's his strategy for his new blog, so it sure is good enough for me.
Up until now I have had a CTA on every post, at least one banner ad on every website and affiliate links scattered throughout. Well all that is changing from today -I am going to start working on one of my websites that was on the back burner. It is going to be an ad-free, affiliate link free, CTA- free awesome experiment and I'll let you know how it's going. Wish me luck!
