Attraction Marketing - Is it The Bomb?

Attraction Marketing could be summed up in a few words - "It's giving value without expecting anything in return." Today I witnessed the most perfect example of it when I watched a FaceBook Live. It was a guy who is a WA member talking about how someone had inspired him to get back on track when he was ready to give up on starting an online business. He talked about how this other person had spent hours sharing his knowledge and pointing this guy in the right direction to become successful online.

Now as his business advances and he needs more tools who do you think he is going to go to? This is attraction marketing at it's best - no selling involved - just giving value.

Not only can you change a person's life with attraction marketing but you will also gain genuine friends for life with it. It's also a great way to get testimonials which you don't even have to ask for and we all know how important testimonials can be in any business.

A few thoughtful comments, a friendly smile, a tip, a shared joke, being vulnerable - all these things are part and parcel of attraction marketing. Large companies are using it by giving free trainings, free trials. So if you ask me - yes, it is the bomb and if you haven't been using it, start now!

Hi Hilary - that's really interesting. We're taught at WA that our purpose is to Help not Sell. The standard email marketing technique is to send some helpful, non-selling emails and then a selling one.

How does Attraction Marketing differ from these approaches or is it essentially the same?
Ian

We are encouraged to both help and sell in the trainings. However the ultimate purpose is to make a sale. The Pareto principal (80:20) is probably what you are referring to regarding emails.

So it's the same? :-)
Ian

A comparison between an email strategy and attraction marketing does not seem relevant.

I wasn't specifically referring to email marketing, that was just an example. I was wondering how attraction marketing differers from what we;re taught here at WA as they seem pretty similar.

Yes thy are

Great. Many thanks, Hilary.

Thank you so much for enlightening me about attraction marketing. I have tried in my first website, I still have as a work in progress since September the 12th, of 2017, to provide a way to go online with Wealthy Affiliate for my viewers without anything in return.

I have been ranking on the first page with Google since five days after publishing on September the 17th of 2017, but without any sales. I am a little perplexed. I have installed Google Analytics and I am currently showing no viewers, although I did have five new viewers when I first set up Google Analytics the first week in April, just no sales.

I really appreciate all you do to help others in the community... Clay

great story, thank you :)

I am learning English and this is a new term memorized on the spot.
Thank you very much, Hilary, for sharing this story. It is beautiful.
To me it reflects what I experience here on this platform.

So grateful to have met you here,
Anne

Interesting--I had not heard of this before--at least called what you call it.

Jeff

I agree it is all about helpful information.

Randy

A fine example of paying it forward. This should be done in all aspects of life whether the sun is shining or not. It's easier said than done, but like anything else, with practice, it gets easier.

It doesn’t take much to be nice and helpful. It’s generally the way here.

Nice post Hilary thanks!

Wayne
