Are You A Control Freak?
OMG control freaks really freak me out! Even I have to admit that sometimes being a control freak is not such a bad thing. Who is in control of your internet business? Is it Google or Facebook or maybe even Instagram? YOU are the one who needs to be in control of your business.
If you think it's not that important - ask anyone who has had their social media account closed down or a big reduction in their commissions because their favorite company changed it's complan. Not being a scaremonger, but these things can happen to anyone including the top marketers.
The good news is that you can take out free insurance on your online business by building your list. It's not a coincidence that so many successful marketers put such an emphasis on growing your own email list on a daily basis. So, whatever you do never underestimate the power of having your own email list. It's your real estate on the internet and your legacy.

I will admittedly say I am one of those control freaks. I think the older I get, I'm trying to get better, because it's stress to take on all the responsibility. Yeah, I'm not sure about lists either, what keeps your business marching along is SEO, and that is content and lots of it.
I do not have any email list system in place.
But you lost me here, how is building list related with a control freak?

I know of someone that google closed their email account.
It took a while to get it reopened and it was empty. She lost all her saved email. So it does happen.
Maybe my post was a bit confusing. Lists are built on an auto responder and are your property. Marketers who were using Google Adwords had their earnings drastically reduced when Google changed their algorithm/rules.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I saw Google and thought gmail.
