The pot of gold

JUST A MYTH?
I love the myth that says at the end of every rainbow, there's a pot of gold!
When I was a kid, I took this to heart. So much so, that one time, I organized a search party with some of the neighborhood kids. We would wait until there was a big rainstorm (in hopes that it would be followed by a rainbow) and then begin our quest in search for the pot of gold.
WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!
About a week or so later, the rain came. It poured like never before, and afterwards, we gathered at my home. The sun began to peak out from behind the clouds, ever so slowly--and then we saw it! A bright and beautiful rainbow crossed the sky like a colorful bridge, waiting to take us to a whole new place we had envisioned.
We looked at each other and began discussing ways we were going to spend the fortune! My mother called out the door and I told her we were going for a walk. She responded, "Just be home in time for dinner!"
IN SEARCH OF GOLD.
We began to walk toward the small airport near by. Our slow pace turned into a jog, and then we all began to run--in desperation of our pot of gold! Within five minutes, however, the rainbow had faded, and all our hopes began to fade with it. Our journey had ended there. Especially, since we couldn't cross the highway where the rainbow disappeared.
We never gave up the search as small children, and I still think about that memory to this day whenever I see a rainbow----and I just smile.
CLOSER TO THE GOLD.
It seems like I've been searching for that pot of gold my whole life----that is, until now. Coming here and seeing the potential of success, I feel like I have come to the end of my quest---that I am closer than ever before to my pot of gold!
