THIS IS A MUST READ ---ALL IN YOUR BEST INTEREST!

For all the newbies and members who aren't aware of the Guidelines at WA, I am posting this past blog I wrote to help you learn the ground rules!

ATTENTION NEWBIES: A MUST READ

I am still seeing posts with personal website links asking for comments, or simply to check out their new site. I was banned from writing for 3 weeks as a newbie when someone turned me in for spamming. I just don't want this to happen to YOU!

I DO want to point out, however, that is is perfectly acceptable to post your link when asking for help!

Thanks for reading!

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: When clicking "Blog at WA" to write a blog post, at the bottom there is a link to click that says, "About blogging at WA." All the rules are listed here, as well!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST TO SPREAD THE GROUND RULES! Thank you!

ALL COMMENTS ARE SURELY WELCOME BELOW!

Hi Erin,

Not only newbies are doing this here, also long term members and those "who are supposed to know in the top"!

To hammer on the newbies then is not completely fair as they adapt from other members here and think it is ok to do it like that...

And the problem is, that this behavior from the other members is not being taken care off, with the result we are in a never ending replication of the problem.

It was discussed already in so many posts and nothing has changed....

Proposals and solutions were given, but nothing was done ever since.

Your meaning is good, but as written above, as long those who are supposed to know are giving the wrong example, nothing will change.

As long Kyle and Carson are not implementing something like a starter video about how to use the platform and you need to watch it before you can use the platform, with accepting you accept the rules and you will lose privileges right away after you violate the rules, nothing will change.

If you see something like that happening, send a PM to Kyle or Carson, as they are the ones to notify violators and we are supposed to stay out of this.

I like to add, from what I have in a confirmation email from Kyle (as I had that as well in my blogs in the past), that you are also violating those rules, and you better remove following text so I do not have to send a PM to Kyle...:

Asking followers to follow and like you is one form of breaking the rules:
"PLEASE LIKE ", I suggest you remove it.

Said that, over and out.

Stefan, ToLiNoLi

I did include all members in this post. I wanted to step up once again and post a helpful reminder. :) Thanks for the heads up--I removed the please like.

Erin :)!

Thanks for the reminder Erin.

Derek

You're so welcome, Derek! Nice seeing you!

So true, Erin. It's so easy for someone who doesn't know to make a mistake. If I see someone doing this over and over, I'll drop a NICE PM message. That usually stops it. I can't imagine 'reporting' someone, though.
Thanks for saying a hard thing in such a nice way.
Wendi xoxo

We are always on the same page, Wendi! I also bring it to people's attention, too. It's always nice to see you!

Erin :)!

Thanks Erin. I didn't even know. I have edited me blog accordingly.

Perfect, Jeff! Then, my post was well worth it!

Erin :)!

Thank you for sharing. You are right this is a must read.

I think we can help others by letting them know gently that this is a NO NO.

Regards
Jennifer

Absolutely, Jennifer! You are so on the right track!

Erin :)!

Thank you

You're quite welcome!

Very good factual post, with Good advice Erin, there are plenty of places within the Community and through the training to get website exposure.

Further advice would be visit, maybe revisit the training and follow it so you become an elite marketer.

Great advice, Dave! WA provides all the specific places in which to gain exposure for your sites. Revisiting the training is always a great idea, as well.

Spamming is a big hole where you don't want to fall into. True. A 3-week ban from anything good is no joke. Ban me from washing dishes and I will be happy.

Great tip for the unwary Erin. I had one of those don't spam pop ups come up on me weeks ago. How can I forget. ha ha ha

Joe

Hey, Joe! Love your humor in light of a touchy subject! It's necessary to keep this reminder going!

Erin :)!

Yeah i don’t think asking for help is all bad with a link as long as they aren’t promoting it.

That's very true, Huy! There's a fine line there. Happy to connect with you, my new friend!

Erin :)!

Sometimes it's necessary to include a link to one's website when asking a question. If we can't see what they're talking about we can't help.

So true. I’m not sure that guidelines exist on how or when this might happen in good faith, though.

Love the new profile pic, btw!

Yes, and that is not a violation Marion and is allowed by the platform owners.

Thank you for mentioning that. :))

Good Morning Erin,

I personally do not think it shows a good character to go and
"report" somebody. One should always try to contact this person on PM and point out the problem. Like that this person has a chance to rectify.

Have a great weekend, greetings from the south, Taetske

Nice to see you, Taetske! You're right---and that's what I always do. A warning is the best way to go about it!

Erin :)!

Hi Taetske,

You should ask Kyle about that, you will hear a different answer to that....

We are not supposed to intervene, only Kyle and Carson can do that.

Some people may not take it well if you contact them by PM to tell them what to do or not as you have no authority in doing so and you could run in a lot of trouble because of that...

Sunny greetings,
Stefan

Good afternoon Stefan,

I stay with what I said before. I do not like to report somebody, where are we, in kindergarten? I prefer a PM to be able to tell about the rules, if that person does not like it, oh well, I can take it.

Greetings from a warm south, Taetske

Everyone's his Taetske,

I just wanted to give you a heads up as I know Kyle does not like that and he prefers you tell him in a PM if you notice this.

So I leave it up to you, I keep myself out of it. ;)

Have a nice evening,
Stefan

Ok, I once sent somebody 2 PMs and never got an answer back. Then I reported this particular case to the authorities, this person was gone! I found this person to be a danger to our WA community. If somebody puts an " innocent " link for sure I am not the person to report this.
Are you also sitting in a heat wave?

Taetske

Makes sense. :))

You are hired once I have place for you. ;)

Oh you mean those +29 in my living room, eh nooo, that is not hot... lol :))

Just try not to move, relax, put a sombrero on your head and sleep or drink some cool drinks and do nothing.

You are so lucky to be in Spain lol :))

Stefan

Lucky to be in Spain? actually, you are right as for where I am it is ok with around 33C. Inland Spain is on alert, up to 45C, not nice.
I just had 2 nice glasses of white wine with ice cubes.

Taetske

I agree that Kyle needs to know about spam if the member is being a danger to the community. Then, by all means, report them. If it seems innocent enough, though, I would warn them. I will be speaking to Kyle about this and I appreciate you bringing it up! Thanks for your insight! It's very helpful!

Erin :)!
