My Heart is Aching Tonight
Today I learned of the passing of one of my dearest friends to brain cancer.
Marie was a wonderful friend to my whole family, and was close by when each of my parents left this world. She and my Dad's best friend ran the popular (Italian) restaurant in our hometown of Canastota, NY, where we all would hang out. It was a place we could go and see all our friends--where everybody knows your name (like "Cheers"). My sister, Tony and I, and Mom and Dad had the best times there with her, celebrating many wonderful occasions, too. Every time I went home for a visit, we would always go to our favorite place.
Marie was one of my biggest supporters of my children's book series, promoting them at every chance, and constantly reading them with her grandchildren---they adored my main characters, Percy Porcupine and Missy Mouse. :)
She was a most caring and considerate woman that I had the sincere pleasure to know---a truly beautiful soul, and will be greatly missed. I treasured her friendship more than words can say.
Always smiling, always laughing, always hugging...that was Marie.
Heaven just got a little brighter!
