Are you sticking with your New Year's resolution?

Begin Today

It is well into January and as you look back on the month, ask yourself one question. Am I fulfilling my New Year's resolution to myself? You owe it to yourself to follow through! Resolutions usually include one or more of the following:

Health and well being

Weight loss

Quitting an addiction

Enhancing your lifestyle

Becoming a better YOU

...and the list goes on.

I Promise I Will...

I try to do my best at sticking to the promise I made to myself on January 1st, but, as you probably know, obstacles can arise out of nowhere! Work, appointments, kids, housework, car repairs, bills, etc. There is so much that can keep you away from your goals.

This IS Going To Be A Great Day!

Get up each morning with a positive attitude! Mentally think of the steps you will do that day to inch toward your target, keeping a clear head. Don't let the clutter creep in and distract you! Filter out the distractions and press onto the productive and joyful side of things and, trust me, it will lift you up!

Let's Do This!

Whether you began your resolution this year on January 1st, or you're beginning it today, stay focused and aware of each passing moment, and remember to ALWAYS take time out for yourself! After all, you only have one life in which to achieve all you want to! EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

I wish you all the very best and let's make it a wonderful and successful year! Have a GREAT one-eight!

By the way, my resolution is to fulfill the promise I made to myself... to work my business at Wealthy Affiliate to the best of my ability!

I'd love your comments!

Thanks for the encouragement!
All the best!
David

You're quite welcome and all the best to you, too!

I make daily resolutions, not yearly:))
So, one day goes better than the other day;)

That's such a great idea! You're more inclined to stick with it daily.

Much easier:)

I love your goal list Erin. It is always nice to be encouraged and reminded of what we need to be focused on.

Thank you! Yes, we need to remind each other of that often so we all stay on the right track!

I created a set of goals for the year rather than resolutions. I break them down into quarterly targets.

I've focused on quarterly targets ever since reading The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington.

I set eight goals for the year in these areas and added notes on how I'm doing so far (to answer your question):

1. Online business - maybe going okay so far...
2. Money - more or less where I expect to be...
3. Summer - a bit behind with plans...
4. Physical - ahead of schedule! (:
5. Reading - just about on schedule.
6. Academic - not started yet...
7. Chess - seem to be going backwards ):
8. Japanese mahjong - not started yet...

Thanks for asking!

All the best,

David Hurley

That's such a great way to break down your goals! Thank you so much for sharing them! I may have to try that and also read the book!

You are welcome, Erin.

The quarterly goals are typically more detailed steps towards achieving the yearly goals.

For example, I have four Q1 online business goals which cover how many blog posts I want to publish on my primary blog, where I want to be with a couple of other new projects, and a daily profit target to hit by the end of the quarter that gets me closer to the year-end business target.

Oh yes, from this year, I check my daily business income/expenses against how much I want to be earning per day by the end of the month. Now that REALLY focuses your attention!

Ohh nooooo I am on all of your lists except my addiction is Wealthy Affiliate

HAHA! Meee, tooo!

Yes as it is easy because I never made one. I am positive I will not give up what ever.

Tom.

Good for you!!! Whatever works! Simply having a healthy attitude and frame of mind may be all we need!

I love your list less and More. That is a great way to create a resolution, whether you start now or did so on January 1st.
I never actually make New Year resolutions. My resolutions are always there. I add to them from time to time. Do I always stick to them ? No I am human but I always go back to them.
With Grace and Gratitude

Thanks, Karen! As long as you're aware of them and mentally enhance your life, all is well!

Just starting to wind up, a few things ticked off the list, and some more added. It is going to be a great year. All the best keep at it.

Great, Alex! I wish you all the best, also!

still too soon for me to tell Herrine!

Haha! Keep doing what you're doing! It's all good!

It is hard to stick with are new years resolutions, but I will have to say so far so good! Best to you on keeping yours.

Thanks for your comment and likewise!!
