Are You Busily Boondoggling?

BOONDOGGLE IS A FUNNY WORD.

THIS IS A BOONDOGGLING BLOG. (SAY THAT 3 TIMES FAST!) lol

It kind of reminds me of one of my other blog posts: Marketing Your Mindboggling Blog

Mindboggling and Boondoggling. Haha! Where on earth does my mind go?! lol

Boondoggling often means to work with little or no value, done merely to look busy. It's where we sometimes get side-tracked with other things that get in our head while working, causing us to get off course. It is also an activity or work that is wasteful or pointless, but that shows the appearance of having purpose. To boondoggle may be to waste money or time on questionable or somewhat unnecessary projects. Stop your mind from wandering.

ARE YOU BOONDOGGLING?

I think I did a long time ago...

Back in the day when I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts, a common craft was Boondoggling. We created long strips of different colored plastic strings, woven and intertwined in a certain way to make really neat key chains, belts, necklaces, bracelets, etc. I spent a great deal of time busily Boondoggling. LOL. The end result was a detailed and thick braid of colors that everyone thought was pretty cool.

SO WHY BOONDOGGLE? IT WAS FUN!

Was that the best use of my time? Maybe back then as a child, I thought so, when I didn't have as much responsibility. After all, it was great fun that has given me wonderful memories.

It may also be fun to get wrapped up in all kinds of interests when working--online especially. That is the beauty of our affiliate businesses--to have fun while we work! I understand that it is our job to implement Social Media and other platforms. However, we can delve too far into each activity, too.

THE BEST USE OF MY TIME.

But now, even though I love to knit (another skillful, yet tedious task), I feel the best use of my time is to work at WA on my businesses in order to see substantial life accomplishments. Taking the time to build upon my dream is productive and quite satisfying.--Something I would not call boondoggling.

WHAT ABOUT MULTI-TASKING?

Although some of us can multi-task to best use our time productively, for others, that can lead to being too busy and loosing focus. Trying to do too many things at once might only confuse matters, and then nothing gets accomplished!

IN LIFE, THERE'S A TIME TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING AND A TIME TO BOONDOGGLE.

So, make the choice that when you're working on making a substantial income here, you fully concentrate on the tasks at hand to gradually develop your very lucrative business. It will happen much sooner than you think if you leave your boondoggling till playtime!

PLEASE LIKE and SHARE, if you wish, to SPREAD THE WONDERMENT (a state of awed admiration or respect.!) Thank you!

Hi Erin,
I agree, work requires dedication. You've got to put in the hours. However, play and hobbies help us unwind and stimulate creativity.
I like the way you say that "there's a time for everything, even boondoggling!
Thank you,
Marsha

Yes, Marsha! It does stimulate creativity, as well! You have some that will agree with you here, too!

HAHA! A time for every purpose under Heaven---even boondoggling!

You're so funny, Jim! HAHA! Yes, maybe--but, replying to me gets your creativity flowing!

Classic, Erin, focus is the key, although the odd side track can bring some value as well.

Absolutely, Alex! Bravo! Boondoggling can be a good thing!

Erin :)!

You Welcome

:)!

If I sit in front of my computer and cannot write something to post I can immediately switch to play chess or Free Cell. They are good you enjoy without thinking. LOL.

True, Jimmy! Our minds also need to "zone out" once in a while, too!

Erin :)!

Yes, but easy things will snatch the time for the difficult things and that's always the possibility.
If we let ourselves swayed by the easy things like chess and Free cell we will soon wake up that time is already consumed.

Forcing ourselves to the difficult ones is an unusual thing but after all we have to say to ourselves it's not really difficult but we only lack determination to do so.

Chess? Easy? Ha, ha. You have made some very wise remarks--great wisdom, Pastor Jimmy! I love that--It's not really difficult, but we only lack determination. Great insight!

I'm getting wise here in WA, Rev. Erin.

Great post

Thanks a boondoggling bunch, Christine! lol

Erin :)!

HaHa did you write this post with me in mind Erin? Cause I've been doing way too much Boondoggling. Awesome post as always my friend!

You absolutely should be! lol

LOL!

:O!

I'm not sure what that means, is it good or bad?

Ha, ha---just goofin' on ya! It is a laughing face!

Haha paying me back, touche!

Thanks for sharing, Erin.
