Healthy environment inside Wealthy Affiliate

I really enjoy the healthy environment inside Wealthy Affiliate. I’m really impressed how we can all learn about affiliate marketing without spamming each other. I admire the tolerance in practice inside the community: we all have different backgrounds, languages and cultures but that doesn’t hold us back from building an awesome community! I really appreciate how polite everybody has been with me and I am always trying to be careful about every comment or post I publish inside the community. Sometimes I’m even a bit afraid to write something that would be misunderstood. I have needed to be corrected at times, but it has always been done very kindly. There might be occasions in the future when I might have to be corrected much harder, but I will try and be humble enough to also receive tough words. And I really appreciate all the help I have received inside the community. I read just a couple of days after joining Wealthy Affiliate a post from Veronica.I, also called Vicky. She talked in a certain part of the post to just help people with a comment or do something kind that the other person would not expect to receive. I thought that would be really nice. But I did not only read it in that post a few days after joining WA, I have seen that in practice over and over (and over) again here inside the community. How can that happen so often? I still can´t find a logical explanation.

I’m really grateful for this awesome community! Thank you very much!

We are a special family, I can feel and confirm each of your words. I have a simple explanation for this, the basis of this platform are Kyle and Carson (as far as I know) and they are irradiating what they carry inside their being. They give the sound and we continue to play the music. I was very lucky for many years working in the medical branche to have a boss of this format. You won't believe the impact of his behaviour on every one who got in touch with him. Many egos have been smelling down and were moved by another way of being and working together. What can be greater than participate in a constructive and friendly purpose.
Being thankful and aware of what we have all together is worth choosing the words we offer. Even if it is in an unappropriate English, thank you for this post and your intention my dear Henry.

Hello, dear N! :) Yes, it's really great to have people like this around us. And I'm very happy for the environment Kyle and Carson have built. And I share your words that being thankful and aware of what we allall have together is worth choosing the words we offer.

Have a really nice day. I hope you're doing great with your sites! It's always a pleasure to be in touch. :) :)

Hello, N33. I really liked your reply to Henry II. We truly are a special family. Loved your analogy of Kyle and Carson being the instruments and the WA commmunity playing the music. I agree that it is Kyle and Carson's love of and acceptance of all of us that is the fuel that drives the WA machine. Following you. Carol

Yes it is amazing that good quality people are drawn to this platform. I too am grateful for the kind and thoughtful people here, yourself included Henry, it takes one to know one. You recognised the true nature of the people here at WA.
A very Merry Xmas to you and your loved ones & a prosperous New Year.
Cheers Jae

Hello, Jae! Thank you very much for your kind words. Thank you as well, for your good wishes. I wish to you and your family the same! :) :)

That's very true Henry. What would we do without it? Great attitude you have there.

All the best and more!
David

Thank you very much David. We also appreciate your contribution to this great community.

So very true, this community knows how to welcome and support each other. It's something very special indeed.

Hi, Jeannine. That good energy is contagious.

Thank you very much for your comment.

Henry,

You are so very sweet. It’s very good of you to be thinking of others’ feelings.

But I can also tell, that maybe you worry too much about the fact of your speaking English as another language, and how you might be misunderstood. Please don’t be. I’ve observed this same unfounded anxiety on many occasions, among those I’ve done business with. Even with experienced ambassadors!

Your eloquence speaks for itself. As you’ve probably guessed, there are many native English speakers whose language is poorly cultivated and nowhere near as sophisticated as your own. I think you express yourself as well as you do, because you are a well-cultivated soul, and keep decent company.

Patterns of speech and writing betray many things, and this is one of them.

But back to your choice of company: because so many of the conventions of language are picked up in our interactions, and not in the classroom, a native speaker with basic skills can benefit as much as the latecomer to English from simply finding a crowd of refined communicators, and soaking it all up.

You’ll soak up other things besides - there are beautiful studies detailing the impact that culture has on working styles and communications. You’ll see those differences at work!

Of course culture is not monolithic, and people are beautiful tapestry-like layers of experience, personality, health, and circumstance. All this means, if you do your best (and I know that you always will), and you are still misunderstood, it’s not always your sole responsibility, or your fault.

That door swings both ways, my dear.

You are doing so well!

Well said. Wisdom.com should be your domain. :)
All the best!
David

Oh, go on. That’s pretty generous from someone with such a balanced perspective as yours!

Hello! Wow, thank you very much for such a comprehensive comment. I had not considered that patterns of speech and writing also reveal our choice of company. But thinking about it, I totally agree. I defiantly am in good company here at WA, and I will learn as much as I can. I personally will be following closely all your posts and comments.

Thank you very much for such kind words. They constitute an enormous encouragement, helping me even further with confidence. You're so sweet.

I'm really impressed with all the value you deliver in each comment I have read from you. I like this comment very much but not only this one. I have started to admire the way you deliver your messages and the deepness of each one of them. Thank you very much!

Hey, David! Sincerily, I agree with you!

I love to be of service, you’re very welcome!

Hello, Ivy. What a beautiful reply to Henry's insecurity about being misunderstood. I totally agree with everything you have said. Was thinking it as I responded to him, but the right words didn't materialize at the time. And now to find them here is superb! Following you and looking forward to getting to know you. Carol

Yes, she is amazing, isn't she? :))
David
All the best!

Hi Carol, it's nice to meet you! Language is so many things, and I adore it all.

The patterns of our language usage are imprinted on still-plastic brains from such an early age. If you've been speaking English from infancy, you'll have a sense that something 'doesn't sound quite right' because the syntax, and the deep structures of myriad phrases are hardwired into your head.

This is why latecomers to English, even where using grammatically sound language, will sport a syntax that still carries something of the flavour of their first language.

That's not always terrible! Joseph Konrad, the Polish-British novelist, didn't speak fluent English until his 20s, but commanded a fine literary prose that resulted in some of literature's most iconic works. I think Henry will be like Konrad. :)

More comically though, I am tickled pink by online con-artists who assume stolen identities and claim to be from rural USA, or else CBD London, while hammering out malapropisms and idiosyncratic styles of speech attached only to a particular family of languages.

The funny thing about these con-artists is that they think what they write is SO VERY GOOD and nobody will every detect them because they are SO VERY SMART and we are all so stupid. Meanwhile, Henry, who writes like a polished aristocrat, is worried that he's not good enough! What contrasts of self-awareness!

Oh, Ivy! In the field of inspiring others, you truly are an expert! My mindset related to writing in English has radically changed in just a few months and that is due to such encouraging comments as yours. Before Wealthy Affiliate, I had never wrote in English. So I greatly appreciate how nice you are. I will always be grateful to you and all WA for that initial clap on my back while saying: “Hey, I understand what you are writing, keep on going!” :)

Henry, you have talents and great gifts not yet realised. I can see them from this distance, even if you can’t. ;)

That she is, David. Glad I got to know her. There are so many intelligent, interesting people here that we are so lucky to get to know and have as friends. Carol

Listen to the lady, Henry...she knows what she's talking about! I can see your talent as well.

I join my voice to CarolMeador’s voice. I feel blessed to have meet such an encouraging, talented and kindhearted lady as you. I have two wishes: 1. That I may someday achieve half of what you have said and 2. Once I have attained such heights, never forget your inspiring words at the beginning and express real gratitude for this clap on my back!

Dreaming of sharing our success with gratitude with those who help us, bring our dreams closer. Thank you very much! :)

Carol, Thank you very much! :) My only talent might be to recognize who really has talent :) I have found a great refined communicator and I’ll soak up as much as my limited brain can bear. I believe that when the WA community comes along and reads what we have wrote, they will note that there is only one talented person here, and that is quite clear. :) :) :)

Henry, you’re too modest. You are a bit of a gem, even if you don’t realise it. That may be one of your charms in fact. I really look forward to seeing you progress and maybe one day say - I knew him! He was gifted even then!

Right on Henry Scott

Hey, Scott. Thank you very much.

Henry, Thanks for promoting. Jay

Hey, Jay! Thank you very much for stopping by! I appreciate being in touch with you!

The feeling is mutual. It is good to be back. Jay

Very true Henry. I have also found that if English is not ones first language (it is my 2nd), that things don't always come out the way it is intended. And with so many of us on here where English is a 2nd or 3rd or 4th language - there are bound to be times when something may come over as harsh or is less well received, although never intended that way or even known by the writer that it is perceived in such a way. I hope that people will always sense the intentions of my heart, which is always good.

I totally agree with you. There is a responsability on our hand to try and be careful enough with what we write but I know that more than once we probably want to express one thing and native perceive another (or even members for whom English is not there first language may perceive something else).

So, joining your voice I would like to tell every WA member, if you ever read something that you can't totally understand or that seems offensive, please take this point into consideration.

We all want to help each other and have already received so much help that the last thing we would want is that these clouds get in our way affecting our relationship with fellowmembers. :)

Thanks Henry, and if we can try to remember to judge the other person favorably - to assume that they mean it well and good (rather than the opposite) even though it came out a bit skew, we may also find it easier to be much more tolerant of our many differences.

And this is an important skill too that we are learning here at WA, since many of us may have websites that may attract readers from all over the world and without doubt not all them will be native English speakers.

We truly are learning SO MUCH here at WA - it is totally amazing!

Hello, TeamIceCream. I loved your reply to Henry's concern about writing in his second language. As a native American English speaker (yes, there IS a difference between that and the King's English!) I am in awe of the courage and skill shown by our many members like you, Henry, and many others that I have had the privilege to meet at WA, who express yourselves so well.

I was told by my own English teacher in grade school many years ago that English is a very difficult language to learn because it is so inconsistent in some things. For instance, spelling rules have exceptions, such as "i before e, except after c."

My hat is off to all of you courageous, wonderful WA friends who struggle for perfection in a foreign tongue and express yourselves so well. Welcome to my network.

Carol

Awww Carol, THANK YOU for your lovely and kind words! That has really touched my heart. It is much appreciated! I'll lock away your lovely words in my memory and revisit them when I doubt myself! ;-)
Sending you an e-hug and wishing you all success with your business!
I feel honored to be added to your network - and I'm glad to welcome you to mine too! ;-)
Sharlee

LUV the e-hug! What a concept!! Thank you, Sharlee. Happy New Year! Carol

Glad you loved your e-hug! ;-) That was my beloved Mother's "invention". Since my beloved Mother and I lives about 7'600 miles / 12'200 kilometers apart, that is what we send each other: e-hugs and e-kisses or "XOXOXOXOXOXOXO" heaps of them! (Depending how much characters are left on the mobile phone text message.) ;-) LOL!

Where do you live, Sharlee? And where does your beloved mother live? I lost my beloved mother in February this year. She would have been 98 in May. She is singing with the angels now. Carol

It is a reflection of the Site and the people who set it up and run it. I too am grateful for having found Wealthy Affiliate and for the people involved.

Yes, I also agree with you in that point. It might seem simple but maintaining a site like this is not easy. A huge thank you to the people who set it up and run it!

I totally agree with you, Henry:). This is a wonderful community with so many talented and helpful people:). I feel blessed to be here! Thanks for sharing your heart:)
Blessings:)
Suzi

I feel exactly the same way. I feel we must be constantly remembering all the great things we have. It will bring a smile to our face.

So true:)
