Disapproving poor quality comments at SiteComments – For better affiliate marketing community

I believe one of the greatest things Wealthy Affiliate has is its community. It’s the best affiliate marketing community in the World.

There will always be some minor issues that we can point out, but let us always keep sight of the marvelous benefits our fellow WA members bring to the general picture.

But talking of these issues we can’t avoid mentioning the increasing number of poor quality comments on SiteComments.

In my book SiteComments 2.0 is way better than 1.0. I love the fact that we can now receive comments super-fast, and we also receive plenty of comments every time we ask for them. Many members take time to leave high-quality comments. I would like to praise them. Give them 5 stars. Say thank you to them out loud. I have been using SiteComments and will continue using it thanks to these awesome members.

But here is the point. If you ever receive poor quality comments, don’t hesitate to disapprove them. Please don't forget to kindly explain why you're disapproving (it can be a brief explanation, but it's very important). The system is good. And it will work smoothly if we all do our part.

To those leaving comments: please try your best.

To those receiving comments: don’t feel bad if you have to disapprove comments. On the contrary, you’re helping the community.

If we all disapprove when low quality is delivered, that person will get banned. And if that member wants to improve, we are helping him every time we disapprove his low quality comment.

I agree with you Henry.
We are here to learn how to do things properly.
Disapproving a bad comment will help the writer in writing better comments.

Yes if the comment is of poor quality then it needs to disapproved but I am really not into giving comments I rather give feedback that is much better I think.

I realize they are both important but I just like feedback better. It seems alot easier than comments. This is my own opinion of course. I was glad to see you in the community, I haven't seen you in the community in while I hope that everything okay.

I do believe we are of the mindset “ pay it forward”
Meaning it is a disservice not to educate the person giving poor comments .Yes be polite and explain why.

Exactly. I agree with you. A teacher isn't bad if he points out a student’s mistakes. A father or mother aren’t bad if they identify their child’s blunders.

I do not disapprove them. I edit them and sometimes if I have time, I send them a pm for them to look at the new version.
Some people are from different background and I know they are trying. Just my take on this.

Hi! Yes I understand it's difficult to disapprove a comment because it may seem we're being too hard. And I agree with you we must help everybody.

Each case is different. I believe we must be sensitive. There may be cases where we may help approving their comments. And there may be other cases were we help them disapproving. What do you think? Being sensitive is the key factor.

Being sensible is also key for our success in the long run. It enables us to connect with people.

Thank you, Henry, for sharing your thoughts about Site Comments. I haven't used site comments since before the new interface was introduced along with the credits you can earn.I didn't know about the low quality comments occasionally being submitted.

I suggest if someone is making a comment to not post the comment if it isn't what you would be ok with if someone left the comment on your website. Simply, be a good representative to the community here. We are all here to help one another be successful.

Yes, like you've said and as Wendy below also confirmed, that is the quickest way for everybody to learn. Like you pointed out, one should just always say WHY it was not approved, so that the commenter can learn from it.

I agree. People will not learn a new thing unless forced. The only way to encourage new behavior is to not accept the old, bad behavior. As a veteran educator, I know this works.
