Public holiday today
Today here in Australia we celebrate Australia Day and it is a public holiday.
It is a lovely day with much milder temperatures after coming through a very hot Sunday when the temperature reached 42 degrees C, here in the beautiful city of Adelaide. We do get high temperature readings over the summer period and not much rain. We are the driest State in the country here (South Australia).
It's late afternoon now while I am writing this post and have read and responded to some other posts in the community.
I hope this photgraph brings a smile to you. This is taken on my deck on a very hot day where this koala and her baby came down for a drink of water. Our home is surrounded by gum trees where we have a few resident koalas. They are used to people and will drink water happily in the summer months. We are very grateful to have nature at our door step.
