And now, rethinking my question, it could have been phrased accurately.

Say someone is a Black Fridayer, leaves WA and comes back at any time of the year say January, do they just re-enter on the Black Friday price? Or do they pay normal price through to November. Then sign up yearly again at the sale price?

Looks like the question has been answered

Yes the will remain the same.

As far as I know, they can come back anytime and they'll still get the same Black Friday price. To be sure use the contact form at
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/contact

Thanks Marion. This is my thought too but differing opinions abound. Of course this depends on the 'boys' keeping it at the same cost.

I am finally getting off my derriere (to be polite) and doing a Black Friday spiel so want to be sure of my facts.

How is lovely Adelaide these days. It's freezing here and there was snow on the hills around Huonville yesterday.

Kyle was in live chat this morning (my time) and he said that the Black Friday price would be the same as previous years. There will be an announcement within the next week.

Helen, my experience is that you will need to sign up during the Black Friday event to get the Black Friday pricing.

It hasn't changed since I have been here either.

If you had Black Friday pricing, couldn't sign up for another annual membership when it comes due, you have to wait until the next Black Friday to come around again to get the pricing. So...I am counting down until I can sign up for another annual membership in a couple of weeks.

Sondra, aren't you set up for automatic renewal?

I don't have to worry about remembering.

I'm not sure but someone mentioned that they would have to start again.
Good question. I look forward to reading the response.

Lily 😊

Me too. If so, and they are smart, they will wait for November again!

Yes that makes sense.
Lily 😊

I am currently trying to catch up with Jay's Google series. I missed all of them when flitting away from bush fires.

I am doing this as thoroughly as possible and so far

I'm not 100% clear what you are asking.

Are you asking how to get to the page you attached here to the question?

That's just the basic WordPress dashboard page. You can customize this dashboard to show/hide certain elements, so your dashboard may look different.

To get to this page, log into your WordPress website and click "Dashboard" https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

What are you trying to accomplish? I may be able to help you better if I know what you're trying to do by getting to this specific page.

I knew someone who knows stuff would respond so thanks Nathaniell.

I missed a heap of stuff when we were avoiding bushfires so I am trying to catch up with Jay's Google tutorials. Not problem with the Intro until I get to his 'Setting up Google Analytic Live'.

He then quickly sets up a new website. BUT he doesn't show the first step, the one that gets him to the above page.

Based on what you have said I went back to SiteBuilder and decided to plunge in and build a SiteRubix site for testing stuff with. Went through the first screen and lo and behold the next screen was the WP screen per above.

I did think this might be the way but I really don't like things I am not using just hanging around, hence my hesitation at doing a new site. Well now I have one to test with for other stuff too.

Thanks again and have a great late afternoon and evening, yesterday!

Helen

First page on your dashboard when you open up your back-office. It's there when you go in to build your website and still there anytime after that.

Thanks. Got it. See my response to Nathanielle.

Helen,

That is the WordPress Dashboard for a WordPress site.

Ellen

I know that but the only way I can see to now create a website is through SiteBuilder. As I don't want to create it there but in WordPress, what is the route. Unfortunately Jay skipped this.

Helen,

You can go to WordPress.com and create an account there. You will need a domain name.

Ellen

I do have an account there but I have to search for the password as I use it so rarely.

And I don't really want a new domain. Hopefully I can work around not knowing this or digging myself into something I don't want. Hopefully Jay will answer and then I will put his response here.

Got it. See my response to Nathanielle. I thought I might have to do a new website to open this. I just didn't want to clutter up things more!

Hi Helen, that page only comes up in WordPress when you first create a site, and if you don't want to create a site, that's okay just watch the training 😁

I have watched copious amounts of training but as I don't want to really create a website I just want to be able to get to the WP page to see how to do it.

So do I create a fakes site through Site Content!

Hi - don't forget, as a premium member, you have 25 free websites. Why not build one just to use for training or experimentation purposes? Lots of us do that.

Got it. See my response to Nathanielle. I knew I would have to do this sometime!

Alright I know this can be done but have totally forgotten how to do it. I would like people who search keywords I use, to see an image.

Not all images can be shown in Google. Only SOME types of content can have images, like recipes. Look in https://schema.org/ to see what options are available.

"Schema"
"Meta data"
"Markup"

Those are phrases usually used to describe the little Google thumbnail you see, among other things including author name, publish date, and more.

Awesome. You can just search for that on google. You can be able to learn more and be reminded of what you have forgotten. Even on YouTube to get the video shot of the same. Complements of the season Helen!

Hey Helen,

Google searching for "can my author image now appear in search engines" (without the quotation marks, of course) it appears that option is no longer available. You may find it interesting to read through some of the posts that appear in the search engine so you can see for yourself why Google discontinued this and maybe even what replaced it.

Hope you find this helpful.

That is. Great question! Don't bother with the G+ author photo because G+ is being closed quickly.

How to add thumbnail to show up in the search engines?

This looks very scary to me. I would like to find out the answer to this problem. I will have to keep my eyes open on my site.
Thanks for sharing.

Potentially and possibly hackers?... I had this with previous hosts but none since being at WA

Good afternoon Helen,

Now that is a scary discovery I must say.
I will rush over to see if I have uninvited guests.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Sorry for that trouble. and thanks for this post, I was able to change my own settings and put my name.

Hackers are always trying to hack our website. The best solution to this is to change your username from admin to your real name that no one knows about.

I have been seeing this on my website more often recently. But because I have a very secured plugin and I used my real name as the username, they are not able to hack my website.

See in the attached below some real cases of attacks that my plugin and username protected me.

So, you see, people from China, Brazil and other countries trying to hack my site. My plugin is doing some marvellous job. Anytime I log in it alerts me of the login, so if anyone does it, I will get to know since I will get an alert.

Stephen.

The training tells us to create another user with admin privileges which I've done and use all the time. Is that enough? The original admin user is still there.
Ian

So, to avoid any future hacks, just go and delete the admin username leaving ONLY the real username you created, in this way, hackers can't guess your username and use it to hack your website.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

Stephen.

Okay :-)
But if they look at the site they can see that I am writing the posts coz they say Posted by XXX on... and my name is automatically used to reply to Comments. Is that not a giveaway?

Thanks for your comment, SBotwe! My own question is, what plugin do you use to protect your site against hacks?

Thanks for your response in anticipation!

Israel Olatunji

I use "wordfence". They have the free and the premium version.

That's a plugin and a half! :-)

It's quite complicated. Is it ok to leave it at all the default settings (whatever they are) or is there anything that needs changing?
Ian

Thanks a lot, friend! Much appreciated! I will check it out right away.

Israel Olatunji

See what I said to Triblu. And thanks. I will see what site support says and come back to your comment.

It was probably an accididn't (someone didn't do it on purpose.) Have they posted anything useful? If so, I'll take the stray. Just kidding. But seriously, I've wondered the potential for hacks, viral cyber swine funky spycrud or general pests. Criminals exist on any platform. Report any weird happenings like this to ensure the WA tech and legal guidance is initiated immediately. Thank you for looking out.

Different info on this user. Have submitted a ticket. Keep posted.

I would contact Site Support right away so they can check it out. Hope you get this resolved!

Janelle

Done.

There was a discussion about the GDPR plugin being hacked. Hackers were able to take control of your WordPress site and create new users. You need to update the plugin. Also remove this user and change your password.

I agree Jackie, this is exactly what I had to do when I found 4 uninvited, unwanted new users on one of my sites!
Eliminate the users, update the plugins, change the password!

This solved my problem! No more new ones, just like SiteSupport said!
Thank you,
Janice :)

Look at that. You're offline for a few days and the vultures swoop. Just checked and I did have an update plugin message. So now updated. Now to change my password.

New one today Jackie. I can't even get into my site to follow out further suggestions from the team. I have put a ticket in.

Sorry to hear. Hopefully Sitesupport can help to resolve this.
Just a word of advice. Even if you're not going to publish or write a post, do log into your WordPress account as they might be some critical updates you need to apply.
All the best!

Thanks Jackie. I do update daily but was working on something else for a few days. However, knowing how the 'boys' do things I am surprised that the Anyone can register is automatically checked.

Oh OK Helen. I hope it gets resolved once and for all.
All the best!

Thanks for this Helen,
I would love to edit some of my sent messages but I just send another one.

Hey Helen,

The scripting for PMs is different than commenting and posting things on WA, so that may be difficult to do. When sending PMs in Facebook you cannot edit them either.

Thank you Helen, for bringing it up. I am quite new at this platform and it is very overwhelming as other people also has commented on, so it is great to know about the "rules". Kind regards Linda.

That would be great if it can be done...

Good of you to bring it up..

Wouldn't know the answer to that one.

It's a bit like emails, Helen. We can't change an email after it's left the building.

Does this mean our WA blogs never leave the building:) You can find them on the web and also edit them!

Every website is editable, Helen, also WA blogs, which work like a website with only the visual tab, but PM is email, you can not get it back after you've sent it.

and Marion. All I can say is piddle!
