Mega Menu Adventures

So, over the past few months I have been wailing and gnashing my teeth over my menu. It really wasnt what I wanted and after struggling to learn Divi theme, I was not going to spoil my site with a boring regular menu.

I had a regular drop down menu which was ok but really nothing like what I really wanted it to be.

I have tried a few plugins to get the mega menu I really wanted, with no success. They have all been too complicated for me to sort out, and whilst I will persevere, there is only so much time I can spare before the panic sets in at all the wasted time.

So this last one was the last time I was going to revisit it, but Im really glad I did ! I have cracked it!

WP Mega Menu by mythemeshop is by far the most intuitive one I have tried. Its all customsied from the menu tab which makes a lot more sense.

I had trouble with the install only because I was trying to do something that wasnt possible - I hadnt appreciated the process of how it worked but once I had looked at the documentation I managed to sort it out, although to give themeshop its due, they did offer to go into my site and sort it out but in the end that wasn't necessary.

I like that I can have a little image, with a small sentence, for each of the blogs. The only thing I would ask your opinion on is whether its okay that the reader has to click a little arrow for the next page of blogs...

I did have a whole list but it was soulless and no character. I prefer this. What are your thoughts?

It's a very good job, I'm sure your visitors will find this new format very valuable.

Bravo

That looks and sounds great Helen. I think I'll have to check it out as well. My menu leaves a lot to be desired. Jim

Hi Helen, that looks awesome. I am sure your visitors will appreciate this format.
I a assuming this would be a paid theme. I am in a constant search for a great theme. Your perseverance seems to have paid off.

Thank you for sharing.

Best wishes,

Michael

Hi Michael, the plugin is $19 so nothing breaking the banks. The divi theme does have a lite version but this is the premium. I started with the lite then decided that if I was going to have to learn how to use it, I might as well have the premium version and just get on with it.

That looks great Helen. I like that the reader has more info on the post that they might not get from just the title.
I'm not experienced enough to know the 'readers' traits when it comes to how they 'act' on a site.
If it were me and I was looking for something in particular, I would take the time to scroll through.

It looks great! Glad you found something you like :)
