Hi everyone

This is specifically for those who charge to build websites for others. I have been asked to provide a written quote to build a new site for a State sporting

It depends on specific needs, I use Australian, because they have great starter sites which can be imported then tweaked. My price would cover the affiliate licence for that, plus additional work for copywriting and SEO and obviously the hosting cost at WA, as an example, but either way a lot cheaper than other companies charge, plus they get more value if that helps

I use Astra on one of my sites

Hi Heidi, I have a very simple one that I customize based on the clients needs. DM me your email address and I’ll send it to you.

Hey R,
Can you send me that quote info also? My email is wjrmac@gmail.com

Sure

I would love to see your quote sheet. mark@wealthyhealthyaffiliate.com

Thanks.

Mark

Hello. I know this is an old post but would it be possible for you to send me your template?
Regards

Hi @LuisPa. DM me your email and I’ll send it to you. 🙂

Sounds like youre doing local SEO? Good question. I know I have few about sports but what kind? Some are quotes with unknown author with runners in background. Not sure if you need something like that, is it a specific sport?

Yes local SEO :)

It's equestrian but does to matter, even if not sport related proposal, a business one would be fine too.

I'm really looking for ideas on introduction of my business, why they should go with me, what technicalities the website offers eg. managed hosting, being WordPress so easy to use, a bit of an area where I can put forward ideas to include eg. featured club each month. That's the sort of proposal I'm looking for.

Hope that makes sense lol

Sounds like Reymott got what you need. Best wishes to you.

Hi guys

My plan is to host my clients sites here at WA. They will need .com.au domain names as we are in Australia so I am thinking to buy the domain name outside of WA e

Hi Hiedi, when you say " host the client's site here on a siterubix site"

Do you mean www.fantasticbrisbane.siterubix.com

Probably not such a good idea, if you are looking to create and host a site on a subdomain in terms of creating that professional presence you want businesses on their own domain, just a personal opinion. If you are looking at creating a web agency, perhaps look at the SEO side of things as an add on or service upsell.

So straight out of the gate, you have website creation, SEO services, and social media and content creation.

Wow " nec minute " you will be looking for outsourcing service providers.

There are really good ways to utilize the Site Rubix platform,

- create a demo site for your client which you can make live practically straightway, clients buzz out seeing there business up in the bright lights, it makes it easy to create and make changes. just remember to put a no follow no index on the site.

- if the deal goes through just transfer the site to the client's own domain, WA makes the process seamless.

- if you purchase a domain name you can point it here to the WA servers and then create a good upsell by providing domain dedicated email and of course, if you create the website on that domain then obviously SSL is another upsell.

Alex

Thanks Alex. I'm thinking the site would be hosted here on www.fantasticbrisbane.siterubix.com but I would buy the domain fantasticbrisbane.com.au and point that domain here. SO the Australian domain name would be the one promoted, linked too etc.. just I could use one of the 25 siterubix sites I have access too.

I am finding many of the local businesses I am talking to don't have a domain name at all, or they have a website they can't get into anymore, don't know who built it or where it's hosted and just want to start again.

Brilliant idea about building a dummy site. The thought had crossed my mind so at the irst meeting I can immediately show them something. Better get onto that :)

Hi Hiedi, it can serve two purposes, one it is a mock-up of a potential site, give people too many choices and they can not make up their minds and also it can serve the purpose of giving you a portfolio of work. When it comes to building site folks will always say show me your work.

If you are trying to help people out, re forgotten domains websites and the such like,

three sites that are extremely helpful.

look up details about the domain name, ownership and registry

will give the cms of a site + the hosting

will give an archive of the site as it appeared online you can just about recreate it.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much Alex they may come in very handy. You are a gem.

Hey Heidi,

Local businesses need to host on a server local to them... meaning in the same country, stated or province in order to be able to rank well in local search results.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Trish

I did see you mention this before on one of my other blogs, and at the time I had numerous messages saying that it doesn't matter what country you host in.

The only deciding factor could be legislation eg. a lawyer may need to host their site in the same country they practice in.

Not saying you are not correct, but it seems to be a grey area.

It truly is up to you as to where you decide to host. You asked a technical question and I provided you with a honest answer.

I did not mean to infer that you HAVE to do anything. Sorry if I came off that way. Legally you can host anywhere you want, yes.

However, if you want Google to list the local business in local searches than it is best to be hosted locally.

Thanks Trish, I am keen to stay with hosting at WA because I know the platform and I know the tech support is outstanding.

I shall test the theory and host the first site here. Need a client first though LOL.

I am more interested in whether hosting on a sub-domain, with a country-specific domain (eg dot com dot au) pointing to the site, is an issue for local SEO.

You might find it best to have your client purchase their own local hosting. Most hosts are now very inexpensive and this way the business owner owns their hosting and domain name so no one can hold those for "ransom" as many web designers have done and still are doing today.

This way, you only need to focus on the site itself. Just a thought...

After doing the first to one for a friend and then one for a family member I am starting to understand the limitations of my clients.

Neither of these two would have the first idea how to go about organise hosting or buying a domain name even and neither was interested in having to do that.

They just want a website and the less they have to do towards making that happen the happier they are. I am finding out that none of them want to be educated about how their sites work, the technical aspect or even how to update the site themselves.

I tried to give the first two login details so they could at least update their own info if they needed too. Neither has ever logged in in almost 12 months LOL.

They want a complete package done for them and that is the service that I will be offering.

Also if I host it here at WA I can charge an annual hosting fee, why pass that up?

If you are pointing the domain names at the SiteRubix servers, wouldn't you just build the site here at WA using the On a Domain I own option.

And I'd use Crazy Domains for a .com.au domain name. Certainly NOT GoDaddy.

I thought the On a Domain I Own had to be a dot com and couldn't be a dot com dot au?

If this can be done then yes, but also say it all goes super duper well and I need to access the .siterubix cause I run out of domains I'm wondering if there is any disadvantage as far as SEO goes?

Thanks for the suggestion of Crazy Domains, sounds like Go Daddy is out.

You could be right on that first point, perhaps you could ask Site Support. I know that you can't register a .com.au through WA, but that's to do with them as a domain name registrar rather than as a webhost.

I'd suspect that having it as a SiteRubix sub-domain might have SEO disadvantages.

I just did a quick test and it does look like as long as you have your DNS pointing to WA name servers then you can use the dot com dot au domain name with the On A Domain I Own option.

I couldn't go through with the entire process as I don't own a dot com dot au domain but it looked like it might work.

Good to hear, Heidi. It seemed logical to me.

I'm not as experienced as some of the others here but I don't see why not the only difference is with the site rubix app you have an extra set of letters in your URL. Of course I could be wrong.
Robert

Thanks Robert I am really not sure, the extra letters are not a problem because it will have a dot com dot au domain name which we will use, it's just the SEO side of things.

I told you there are many people inside that know more than I. Hopefully they will be able to help. Hoping your question is answered the right way.
Robert

No one has been able to definitively say if .siterubix is an issue or not so I'd say you know about as much as everyone else Robert :)

Thanks heaps for the reply. We shall wait and see hey.

So it looks like I will be starting to do some new website builds for local businesses. Go me!

Many of them have .com.au domain names and will want to keep them.

Hi Heidi,
This link might be useful for you.

Thanks Johnson but that seems to be how to move a site away from WA, I want to host the sites here :)

I have thought of pursuing this as well after awhile with what I have been learning so far.
I am glad you brought this up and will follow up with the replies as it will give me something to ponder on.

The two sites I have built and am hosting for them here at WA have been the best money earners so far Ken.

It's a good way to get some cash while you are building out your affiliate sites.

Exciting you are picking up such business! I have no such experience so can't comment with any help but do send congratulations!

Thanks Linda, I have done two sites now but one was for family and the other a friend. They did pay but a greatly reduced rate, but now I am targetting local businesses it's all started to get REAL!

Thanks for the congrats.

Hey Heidi,

One of the main SEO "secrets" for getting local businesses ranking in local searches is to make sure they are hosted local to the business.

Many local business owners who have come to me because their sites are not ranking at all is because their sites are hosted in the United States and not in Ontario, Canada (were I reside).

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you, so you don’t host their sites here at WA?

Nope... and I insist on my customers owning their own hosting and domain names. Most web hosting providers are inexpensive enough nowadays, PLUS most web hosting providers will supply a domain registration as included with their hosting. Also now recommend they purchase their SSL certificates from their hosts too.

The States still leads the pack with the least expensive hosting, but I'm sure Australia is at least similar to Canadian hosting providers.

Heidi is speaking of local business (examples: plumbers, electricians, landscapers, hairdressers, spas, etc.) websites Petra, not affiliate marketing websites.

Hi Trish and thanks for sharing. I need to do some more research before the first site becomes a reality!

Time to dig up Jay's local SEO webinars again :)

An excellent idea Heidi, as I'm sure Jay can shine a light on even MORE info.

@Petra4 check out Jay's local SEO webinars, as he will explain better than I have. Getting local business sites to rank well is a LOT different than affiliate marketing when it comes to WHERE to host your website.

Most people forget that Google is not a person but a script. Scripts need all the help we can offer them. Make things easy for scripts means better chance of local sites to appear in local SERPs.

I did transfer a co.uk to WA. I didn't have a website, just the domain.

Thanks for letting me know Keti.
Looks like it will be possible.

Usually, local businesses are better off with the local domain extension. Dot coms are for international businesses. The dot com dot au sites show up better in the SERPs for Australians.

To answer your question, you can change the DNS to point to any hosting company where you have an account, thus keeping the dot com dot au extension. Or you can use a redirect to point an existing website to a different website.

Thank you Marion and for your help privately. I think I can do what I originally thought.

You are a gem to spare me some of your time. Most appreciated.

Hi guys - I have just diligently gone through and left a message on all my referrals profiles.

If they are no longer actually logging into WA will they get an email wit

I don't know the autoresponder but you can write them one by one and send to their usernames here in WA just right under your $ sign, just press it and it will lead you to their profile and WA account

thats the name of the game keeping in touch

If they not login to WA they may not see your message, but if you have their email address than you can email them and hopefully they open your emails.

I don't have their email addresses and I also don't want to harass them I was just wondering if the WA messages went elsewhere :)

Thanks for your comment.

It works for me

Hi Heidi,

It probably will depend on their notification settings. In the beginning, I think the system automatically sends messages. Yet, if their email program labels it as SPAM, the WA system automatically turns the messaging off.

So, in best case, they will see when they get messages. Yet, they will still have to log in to actually read the message.

For example, I get notified when I have messages. On the days that yahoo mail does not send them to spam. Yet, I have to log into WA to actually read the message. If I start wondering what happened to my WA notifications and find them in SPAM; I have to go into my settings and turn the notifications back on.

I collect their emails before they sign up for Wealthy Affiliate, I then proceed to email them with helpful information, updates etc. I also invite them to my Facebook and YouTube channel. Step 1. Send leads to capture page 2. Email follow up offer info and value

I would show you the capture page I use but we not allowed to share link here.

Oh well maybe a reminder email might get through and they come back and check their messages here at WA.

I just feel like I could be helping more and offering more assistance, I have not had any questions or requests for help, I feel like I might be talking into a black hole most of the time!

Thanks Sondra.

Hi Tamara they are already my referrals here at WA, I am just keeping in touch with them to offer my assistance.

Hi, I've heard that is ideally the best. As they say, the money is in the email list.

In Heidi's case, she would have to implement something like that moving forward. These people have already been directed to WA.

You are doing a great job!

I think I've got your website saved. I'll take a look at it. If not, I'll send you a message tomorrow afternoon.

Sometimes when I do paid traffic, they sign up but don’t set up their profiles, they log off get busy and forget about WA, I sure did. If I learn or see anything that will encourage them to visit WA, I share it with my list. There is plenty of programs out there and sometimes people don’t know the value of what they have in their grasp. That is where I come in.
