Words friends! Words!

For my newbie buddies - as fledgling online entrepreneurs building our empires here at WA we all know that Content is King, and that means words friends, words!

I have just passed my 4 month anniversary in this wonderful place and in that time Site Content tells me I have managed to write 101,612 words.

From my sales so far that works out to be about 10c per 10,000 words written. Man I'm cheap!

Not to worry I'm just having a laugh at myself, I know that my combination of those 100,000 words can at anytime move from obscurity on page 20 right up there to page 1 and start making me some money.

When I first started it took me 2 days to write my About Me post and I was nervous about pressing publish even then. I just wasn't happy with it.

I kept re-writing it, swapping those words and paragraphs here, there and everywhere hoping they would read just that bit better.

I read something on another blog yesterday while researching how to write content for my

Bootcamp site that basically said at some point you have to "just stop and get it published".

5 good blogs are better than 1 fantastic blog.

Remember you can always go back later, as your knowledge and skills increase and refresh those posts.

So in quick conclusion - GET THOSE POSTS PUBLISHED and let's move on cause there's many more words to write.

So that's my short and sweet blog for today, I think I have used enough words already. You didn't think I could do a short blog did you?

Great words. I learned long ago that I cannot give into my OCDness too much. You don't get your tasks completed and you run the risk of not only being too hard on yourself, but can become discouraged and then quit due to frustration.

Thanks for the reminder and advice,

Val

You are very welcome Val, yes it's sometimes difficult to put yourself out there in your blogs when you feel they could be better. But I find knowing I can go back as my skills improve has made me less OCD lol.

That's great stuff, and some awesome encouragement, not only for newbies but folks who hit a slow patch !
Mike

Ah the dreaded slow patch, bit like quicksand at times I've found.
Thanks for your comment.

Good approach, Heidi. That is right in alignment with Kyle's training.
Debbie

It was probably Kyle that said about the 5 posts being better than 1 great one. I read so much stuff I forget who said it!

Thanks for stopping by Debbie

Keep them coming Heidi.

Thanks Stuart

I as also really nervous when o first started blogging. Sometimes it still can take me hours but its because there is so much infomation out there to cover.. it does get easier

Tina

Yes thankfully it does get easier. I used littlemama's formula for writing my last blog and got it up over 2000 words easily.

You can check out her training here:

Thanks for sharing

Congratulations Heidi doing great

Thanks Brett, kind of you to say so. Best wishes to you.

What a handsome post! I love it, I hope I can do this too.

EVERYONE can do it Lyn, the training here will teach you how and it's just up to us to put it into practice. The more you write the easier it becomes.

Best wishes for your online success.

Thank you Heidi for being around. I love to write but English is not my first language though I love it.

Best
Lyn

Well written Heidi!

Thanks Mike, appreciate it.

First, make the word then go back and add the power. Yes, you always can go back.

When you have the experience you do not go back several times.

My Grad school advisor wrote a publication in one afternoon, which took me months. But I found myself little better over time.

Every write-up builds experience and we get perfection as we move. Moving is very important here.

I think we all need to remember we can go back so it’s not like you press publish and that’s the end.

Thanks for stopping by

What a great post. I think many of us started out feeling nervous about putting our first words out there.
You have written a lot in 4 months... congratulations and hopefully your pay will increase soon.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

I was so worried my content wouldn’t be good enough and that I had to keep working it until it was just perfect.

Paralysis of the analysis I think they call it. But then the though of how long it would take me to build a site people could stay and browse if I kept taking that long on one post soon helped me stop doing that lol.

Thanks Karen
