What Is A Marketing Funnel?

There might be some confusion about what a funnel is as opposed to a website, especially for those new to affiliate marketing. I shall explain briefly and also touch on why you might want to consider a funnel to promote your affiliate offer even if you have a website.

A funnel is basically a mini website but the main difference is that a funnel page only has one call to action. A website will have a navigation menu with links to all sorts of pages eg. your blog, services, contact, about us etc.

A funnel is a cut down website often with as few as two or three pages that link together depending on the customers actions.

Why Have one?

✅ With a funnel you are able to more clearly and concisely direct your visitor through the sales process. Through the layout of the pages you take your potential client by the hand and lead them in the right direction. This way they do not get confused or side-tracked and leave your page.

Remember a confused mind says NO!

Not what we want 😰

✅ Funnels can also be used to collect email addresses allowing you to follow up with your potential client. I expect you’ve heard the saying “the money is in the list”.

This is absolutely true and for no additional expense on your behalf you might as well have your funnel collecting emails at the same time.

✅ By offering a lead magnet you can provide a fair exchange for your client's email address. A win:win is always a good way to start a relationship. I have done training here at WA on lead magnets and how to get one:

✅ Thirdly, a funnel will point your visitor to only one product or service.

A bridging funnel is perfect for affiliate marketers. It’s called a bridging funnel because it bridges the gap between where your client is and your affiliate offer.

You direct your visitor to a page which gives you the opportunity to overcome objections, explain why this offer will help them solve their pain points and give them a reason/incentive as to why they should buy from you now rather than anyone else … all BEFORE you send them to the affiliate offer.

Things become clear for your client because you are only focusing on one offer and giving them one call to action.

You can build funnels or singular landing pages within your Wordpress website, yes there are stand alone funnel builders/software which can make the whole job easier, but as long as you know the basic psychology behind a funnel you can build them anywhere.

Are you using a funnel in your marketing❓
Do you have any questions about funnels❓

I am currently using two different funnel builders and have built landing pages on my WP site and I am more than happy to share my experiences.

As always just drop your comments or questions below and I will do my best to help.

I have seen a few other member;s sites where they had the funnel set up and the whole 9 yards. Landing pages, autoresponders and all the things that allow them to keep marketing the prospect even after the initial visit to their site. After you have them on your email list and their OK to send them messages it's all on autopilot after that.

I understand to concept and I know what I have to do. I just don't know how technically to do it yet. But I will come hell or high water.

Definitely worth having Neil, I created my first one within my Wordpress site, depending on your theme it doesn't need to be too difficult.

There are great autoresponder with free options up to a certain amount of subscribers too, which is usually plenty to start.

Hi HeidiY. Thank you for your wonderful lectures on Sales funnel. I may want to know, how do we get traffic for our sales funnel? i.e, what is the best way to promote our offers using Sales funnel.? Does solo Ads really converts?
Cheers,
Celebee.

Good question Celestine, solos do work for the right offer. You need to determine what outcome you want from the funnel.

Are you just collecting emails to follow up, or do you want to sell on the front end?

A high ticket offer usually won't convert with solos, but if you have a killer follow up email sequence you can convert.

If you are looking for a front end sales funnel, then going in with a low ticket (less than $10) offer, which is an absolute no brainer for people to buy, eg. has soooo much value included, then you can make sales with solos. Usually if the low ticket sale covers the cost of the advertising you then have an upsell which is where the money is made.

I love FB for free traffic and use that predominantly to my funnels. That way you have no risk of losing money. I don't recommend FB ads, this is a very steep learning curve and you can lose substantial amounts of money!!

I got you thank you so much.

Hi Heidi

I have until this moment believed that funnels were merely superfluous flim-flam. Then I read your excellent post. As my mum would say, "You are a clever fish!"

Also I can report that anyone who uses captain and master in a single sentence (your profile), must be taken very seriously.

With a slightly different mindset, using a funnel can open up a wealth of opportunities. They are extremely versatile. Though I read quite a bit about them during the tail end of last year, I have just started the 'One Funnel Away Challenge', kind of a late xmas present. It's early days but the notebook is starting to fill up.

You will get so much out of the OFA Twack, I've done it twice myself. Please let me know if you need a hand or just want to chat or someone to fiddle with your funnel 😂 I also build funnel templates just for fun.

Made me laugh so much, thank you for that and you kind offer, I may well be taking you up on it. I took a lot from the short 'Bootcamp' just before Xmas. I'd like to really get my head round it all.

I know bet you didn't think anyone was going to offer to fiddle with your funnel 🤣

Definitely not on a Wednesday. I'm going to start having funny looks if I keep blurting out laughter, whilst 'working'.

Thanks for sharing such a good method to promote a product or a blog. Sound like, it is easy task, But, still I don't use such a method to promote my website. I try to learn frist.
Thanks you again.

Sam how far along are you with your website? Funnels can be a great addition to your business, but they should compliment what your already doing. Don't get sidetracked by shiny object syndrome.

I am confused. I read this post. I don’t get how it is so easy to set up. I went back and read some links you have here in the training.

Wordpress has a funnel builder? And if I don’t put it on my website don’t I need a domain to put a funnel on as a stand alone page? It’s just not all fitting together for me. Can you explain in more depth for me and I am sure others on here.

Thank you
Laura

Sorry to create confusion Laura, I will do my best to explain.

You can build a funnel as a stand-alone project with its own domain name. There are other platforms specialising in funnels where you can do just that.

BUT you can also create any page within your WP site which would be designed to act as a funnel page (eg. no menu at the top), you don't assign it to a menu item, so it won't appear on your site and simply use the page title as the URL to drive people direct to that page.

On the first page (called a landing page) you would have a button or link to your affiliate offer (or a further page within your site depending on what you wish to achieve).

Does this make more sense?

Or you could put your capture page on a siterubix site and not register another domain

Yes. It makes more sense. Thank you

Yes that would work equally as well. Good one
