Why I love - and hate - Chrome and what to do then.

I don't know you, But I love to use Chrome as my standard Browser for all the extensions available and I have regularly a huge number of tabs open, between 20 and 50, I guess, with all the stuff I have opened and want to do LATER (when?).

So they stay open, even for days - apart from the ones of the websites of my fellow WA members to increase their stats with Google for the time people spend on their websites. Well, I help many of you in this way, even without commenting or commenting only once in a while.

Everything great, I have a very potent computer, I LOVE IT. But, every second or third day, Chrome freezes and I have to restart the program. Sometimes it even freezes to the point that I have to restart the whole computer.

Well, my husband gets regular notice - mostly about Windows (so not really relevant to me), but I think there is very valuable Info which I want to share with you.

I didn't know that some features of Chrome stay active in the computer, even if the program is closed. Did you? This explains my difficulties, I guess.

Have a look, there is more to it, and maybe you subscribe for the guy (no affiliate attached here, just info)

Have a lovely WEEKEND with some leisure off screen!

See you next week with some "inner stuff" blog post, planned already for a while...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has so many windows open :) & I sometimes miss some major updates.

I would forget, otherwise, what I am about to do in the next few days......

Hi Heidi, Chrome can be a thirsty beast as far as resources go, good share there thank you, I did have issues but have got them sorted now I too like the extensions that are available with chrome. Although I do use firefox as well when chrome decides it is going to have an off day lol.

Yes, Firefox is my second choice. I don't like Safari very much anymore.....

I've been fine with Chrome, too. Perhaps I'm just lucky?

Lucky, yes - and maybe you and your computer you are just the right fit for chrome (lol)

Hi Heidi, I have had a problem with Chrome ever since I upgraded to Windows 10. I don't have the problem with it freezing, but it loads at a snails past now. When I click on the Google icon on my desktop, it can take up to over a minute to appear on the desktop. Being 75 years young, I am falling asleep by the time I can check my mail :>)
Have a great day
Joe

You are joking, 75 is young today!
I guess there could be done something, though. I am definitely not a windows expert, my husband is working on it, and since Windows 8 I hear him swearing quite a lot.
He is reading the newsletter from the person I quoted above. Maybe it can help you, too!

Hi Heidi. I use chrome and haven't had any issues with it yet.
Cheers, Marsha

Good for you!

Hi Heidi-I use Chrome, and I have to restart frequently, as well as dealing with other weird glitches, that may just be related to my old computer. I like Chrome, though. Even with its' faults, it is my favorite. :)

It is my favorite, too. And so I put up with the glitches. I guess the glitches can also be caused by the missing perfect compatibility with the system, at least in my case. Chrome is not an Apple baby....

Chrome can be a pain sometimes, but we get use to it.

Yes, I prefer it to all the other browsers, and try not to get angry when........

Thank you for this, Heidi, you are truly a helpful insider to have here!

Thanks for the information, I did not know that! But I don't have many Chrome extensions, so I don't have the problem... I try to avoid having too much stuff like that.

Btw: it's a good and very nice idea letting the websites of WA members open in order to increase their stats with Google :-)

Cheers, Gerlinde

Thanks Gerlinde.
I think we should get the word out of just going to each others website, click a little around, and if we don't have time or idea of writing a comment, just leave the tab open for a while. - if the computer makes it.

I am supporting many Wa members with comment exchange - and, more, with just being in their sites. They might not be aware of that at all....

Yes, but now many of them know it... and that's good! Thanks for the support! :-D

We can tell them, whenever there is the opportunity!

Interesting, I was not aware if this.

Never had 50 tabs open but if your comp can handle it hey why not.

Thank you!

Yeah, I love my new IMac. It costs a lot, but I saved the money for a long time for it. It is really worth while 32G ram, hurrah!

My word, that is a lot....enjoy it!
