So I'm not exactlys sure what to call it, but if you go to my site, I have it on a scroll to show my latest posts.
It starts out with my "Share the Love" for fb/pinterest/
Hi Angela
Which share icons are you using? It sounds like it might be Grow Social by Mediavine... if it is, it is easy to change the position of the icons...
:-)
Richard
I use sassy social share, but that isn't the problem. It's the excerpt for my posts that have that as the first line. I think when it shows in the scroll it wants to use the first paragraph of the post and thinks that those words including the affiliate disclosure is a part of my post. I want to remove that first part of the excerpt so it only shows my post.
I hope that makes sense.
OK ... if you go into the Sassy settings from the WP Dashboard sidebar, then go to the second tab headed "Standard Interface" then scroll down... ~
you'll find a series of boxes for dictating where the icons show.~
Make sure that the one for "Excerpts and Posts Page" is empty... remember to SAVE...
Please try that and check if that sorts the problem.
:-)
Richard
OK... it looks as if with the Sassy free version you can only add the standard icons at the top of a post. So you either go premium, use a different share icon plugin or create a custom excerpt that somehow excludes the icons.
Personally, I prefer to put social share icons at the door of posts because I don't expect anyone to share from the excerpt or from the top of a post.
I think the easiest way would be to swap sassy for Grow Social which allows you to stop showing the icons at the top of a post.
:-)
Richard
that maybe controlled within your social media plugin...
have a look down your sidebar for it or hover over settings to see if anything jumps out at you....
you may be able to change what shows in the snippet....

How to edit snippet that shows on site per post ?

Don't know if this has been resolved, however that's the plugin forum, I don't use sassy social.

Hey all! It's been almost 6 months since I have been on this platform. Life got in the way and I had to deal.

For future purposes if you were to go.
For any websites hosted here, you need arrange alternative hosting for your website before your subscription ceases as you would be locked out the platform, site support back ups are only available for 60 days.
You can never revert back to being a starter.
I also suggest you backup your sites, you can use the AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended
.
Also domain names must have passed the grace period of 60 days.
Thank you so much guys for your input! Site Support has restored my site! Yay!!!!!
Now it's time to refresh it and get back to work!
So happy to be back with you guys! Ya can't get rid of me that easily HAHAHA! :-)
Next chapter, here I come!
You could also try Site Support, Angela! Of course, if you are an annual member, your stuff should still be right where it was, my friend! Best success to you either way!
Jeff
If site support does not have a copy of your website, you could try the "waygackmachine". It is an extension that allows you to view content of archived websites. It is possible you could find your original content there.
Hi - actually, your website is deleted after 60 days. There is a possibility that Site Support may still have a backup if you didn't make one yourself before you left.
Thank you Diane! I must have just mistaken the 6's LOL. I will message them and see. If I have to start over, maybe it's a blessing in disguise :-)

Hey everyone!
Good morning this fine Thursday!
I am trying to get links for an affiliate program in this network but am having trouble doing so.

Thanks for the kind recommendation for ShareASale. As the ShareASale rep here, I can tell you that we work hard to make things easy for you to secure links through our platform!
I know about flexoffers, yet do not belong. From what found while looking around is this:
https://www.flexoffers.com/affiliate-programs-categories/
Maybe you can try here. Sometimes a search doesn't bring up the content you search for.. .
Rudy
Thanks Rudy!
I already have a program that is approved, finding the individual links is what I need.
I can find the programs but when I search for certain products they don't come up.
I'm gonna have to message them and have them help me out.
Thanks : )
Oh...ok. yeah, that would be my next thing to do, too.
Another thing to consider is this is Not shareASale, and marketplaces are not the same.
Look at flex with new eyes.
Sometimes we have expectations on what something should be based on past experiences...grin.

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday!
So I have been looking into new affiliate programs that offer most of what I want to promote all in one place.
I feel li
There is no limit at all to the number of products or networks that you promote, but may sure they are offers your readers can't refuse and they are what your niche wants. Just because a product is relevant to your niche doesn't mean your readers are interested in that aspect.
Thank you Catherine!
Currently I have 4 different coffee affiliates and today applied for one for the coffee makers and such that go with it.
I found one with all the different makers I promote. Though the coffee affiliates also sell makers, they are not all in the same place. This is the reason for my question.
I think I'll stick with my coffee affiliates and the one for the makers and such. That'll be 5 total for now.
I also wanted to incorporate chocolate and gift baskets that go right along with coffee. Those, however, will probably be sidebar ads or banner ads in between my content and other links.
Something to consider when introducing a new product is to write a short review with an image, maybe entice your reader to sign up.
And as Catherine stated, as long as the links are relative, I say go for it. Like you said, some offers are localized, some are more available on a wider scale..
We caffeine-anados, grin, love our Java, and will buy just about any accoutrement that goes with it. For example, one of a kind coffee mugs/cups, etc...
Rudy
Oh absolutely Rudy!
Review is a good idea. I write them for coffee but have yet to do one for an appliance.
As for the mug idea, I actually have a ton of coffee mugs and was thinking of doing a "mug of the month" type thing where I write about mine and have readers post their favorites. (along with promoting new mugs). That is for future plans, not quite yet though.
Thanks for stopping by Rudy!
Angela : )
We keep the number of affiliate programs low for a specific niche and generally use only 1 if they products are plentiful.
We check the satisfaction of consumers for affiliate programs and their delivery of the products. So customers find it easy to buy from the source we choose...
Currently I use around three different programs, but two of them are on share a sale. That way those two get tracked in one place.
If you are happy with the amount of affiliate products a network offers, then yes you stick to one. There is no limit on how much products you promote ,just make sure they are relevant to your niche.
Thanks Luc
I currently have 4 for my coffee products and just applied to another for the appliances, on a different network. I just don't want too many to have to keep track of, but also don't want one for this and one for that.
Just seeing what others think and how they do it.
Thanks for the input Luc

Hello hello!
Is there any way I can figure out which plugins are loading unused javascript?
I tried clicking the link page speed insights gives for "code cover
you may not be using all of the js from each plugin or on some pages you may not be using a plugin....
autoptimise and async java are two plugins that go a long way to improve your speed ....
and a3 lazyload plugin ( this does video as well as images)
and asset cleanup can do it page by page for the ultimate...
there is wprocket ...a paid for plugin that is supposed to be an out of the box speed up ...but on my site the jury is out...
if you are in the yellow then you are ok...google will not penalise you ...it is when you are in the red then it doesn't like your speed...
you will need ot keep an eye on your site for a while when you add the plugins to see if there are any issues
if your images are large then mobile speed will be down....
it takes typically 5s to download 1mb to a mobile and a second to a laptop/desktop...
and this is where the major speed difference is between them....
it is all down to connection speed and as hte majority of searches are now on mobile then google felt it had to do something...
Thanks Phil!
My laptop is at 100 and mobile is at 70 right now. I did install Smush for all my images and that helped a lot. But I will look into the plugins you have suggested also and see if it helps.
I also see now, that Smush does a lot of what I am looking for but I have to upgrade. Ugh! Nothings free huh! LOL
Howzit Phil,
Just a quick ask.
I have the same 5 Posts that are Consistently Green/Yellow.
I have tried to change the Mobile Speed but no joy as yet.
But as you say no issues there.
I would like to why on occasions it goes into Red, but if you leave it a while and refresh, its back to Yellow??
Cheers
Murray
Hey Murray...
pagespeed insights is something that interacts with your browser..
so any addons you have installed will have an effect on the measurement...
and occasionally it will have to do with your connection ...if it is doing something else then it will take longer...
so google pagespeed is not the best method as it relies on your browser...
but the alternatives like webpagetest which is a lab measurement ( independant of your browser) takes time, therefore use this when you are certain you have cleared most of the render blocking..
Howzit Phil,
Thanks for getting back so quick.
I don't have many addons ,so I think it must be my connection. One of the 5 posts I told you about, one was red this morning.
I left it, to await your answer ,on checking Lo and Behold its Yellow.
"Just Like That" Magic
Thanks again Phil.
Cheers

try it through lighthouse in chrome and see whathat says...
visit the page and press ctrl+shift+i (press all three)
a panel will open...
click on light house and click on generate report...
wait till it has finished and see what it says.. it normally is a better result that pagespeed insights...so that must measure more....
to remeasure click on the little + up in the top left corner
you may get a warning that therewere issues affecting this test with sotred data... that may be the problem with pagespeed.. .flushing the browsers cache....
Howzit Phil,
I followed your Instructions on the 5 Posts.
SEO all 100.
Accessibility all 93 +
Best Practice 3 x 100, 2 x 80's.
Performance 3 x 80's, 2 x 78.
This makes them all Green and Yellow.
What scares me was, what they say you can do to speed them up.
Getting involved with Code??
Cheers
Murray
there is no instant fix for these so you need to sort of get your hands dirty.. .but i always advise if they are in the yellow and yuo don't d ocode ..leave them alone..
or setup a staging test site ..so you can crash that rather than your main site...
but most don't want to or have the time ot get involved with the coding...
Phil as you say Yellow is OK.
I will leave it.
Like most I do no have the time.
Maybe one day.
Thanks for the help and Information.
Cheers
Murray
You could do a browser search on your plugins and see what others suggest. And see if anything is stated about speed on mobile.
Some themes are also slower.
Thank you. I do have generate press theme so I don't think that may be the problem. But, I will do a search and see what comes up.
